Sad to see Paul Allen has passed away from cancer.

Yeah he was a Billionaire, but one who generally made positive advances... even if you don't like Windows.

Pushed private development of Space Flight, with his SpaceShipOne program and Stratolaunch systems.

Donated 2 billion of his own money towards Environmental/Wildlife/Healthcare/etc. programs.

Raised the ship's bell of the HMS Hood at his own expense... (with permission from the Hood's association and the British Government) and donated it to the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

Also a big supporter of WWII Warbirds conservation and promotion. He owned the 'Flying Heritage Collection'.

Well worth seeing if you are ever in the Seattle area. Has the only original flying 190A and the only original 190D.

What an amazing collection. I'm also interested in seeing all that amour. My wife's best friend lives on Whidbey Island so we'll definitely check it out on our next trip.

If you go there, I can also recommend the Museum of Flight on Boeing Field. They have another great collection and it isn't very far. Get a twofer!

Btw, I may be one of the few who prefer Windows over Apple
