Requesting Community Participation in Server Stress Test November 17th

    Hello All

TF's Code Group would like to run a test of the current version of TF 4.53 Blitz to pinpoint areas where the netcode can be improved for TF 5.0.

We would request as many players who can attend as possible, the results will be important for TF 5.0 gameplay.

Server will be set up with large numbers of AI aircraft flights, etc.

Date and time is November 17th at 1800 GMT.

Players use their current TF 4.53 Blitz install. There is no requirement to patch any new data.

The test is designed to determine the point at which the total numbers of humans and AI become problematic in 4.53 and to identify what areas can be improved for TF 5.0.

There will be designated Teamspeak channels on the ATAG Teamspeak.

Thanks to the community for their interest.

Re: Requesting Community Participation in Server Stress Test November 17th

    I am willing to participate.

As this request has started to spread to other forums as well, it would be nice to know, which server will be hosting the test. ATAG axis .vs. allies? ATAG Test #2? Some new and dedicated server?

Re: Requesting Community Participation in Server Stress Test November 17th

Atags server #2 will be hosting the test and during that time the campaign server will be offline so please everyone stress the heck out of atags server so we can compile the data needed for TF 5.0....... then the campaign server will return to normal 24/7 until December 31
unless there is another test between now and then....if so TWC will again comply to help as much as possible.<S> Fatal

Adding "Date and time is November 17th at 1800 GMT" to the server info in the game might help recruit test-pilots who don't read forums.

Count me in! Do we get to test aircraft...like the new BF109s and the New Spitfires?

No new aircraft, it is just testing the netcode changes we've made.

Re: Requesting Community Participation in Server Stress Test November 17th

Are there are any particular behaviors that stress the server/netcode more than others (e.g. multi-crew aircraft being spawned in, large groups of planes in a small area, flak guns firing at targets, etc)? Just want to know if there is anything specific that you want folks to do when they join the server.

Look forward to helping out on the 17th!

No, nothing specific requested or recommended: Just chase/bomb the others as you would do usually. We'll use the New Dawn Fades, so hopefully everybody will be around the Isle of Wight, with lot's of flak. We will also add and remove AI bombers. But the most important point is the number of human flown planes at the same time.

No, because that is not the purpose of the test and it would muddle the results.

Sorry I was not able to make the test. A lottle bit on the early side in Australia.

110 people showed up. Outstanding. We have a very special community of people here.

Im sure the committment shown by those who took part will aid the TFS guys and our much loved flight sim.
