    Hack's Hits and Oh Sh*ts

    Salute guys!

Just figured out how to make a recording with G-force Experience Shadow Play.
    And then Upload to YouTube.

It's taken a long time to reach a level of consistency / proficiency in this sim to become lethal and survived. We have a niche group of highly skilled flyers here in the ATAG community that makes the experience awesome.
I would like to share with others who may be interested on how the next guy does it.
Groove, Karaya ,MK MR. X come to mind right away whos videos I have loved and learned from.

So Here is my first video ever. (Took me nearly all day to get it going)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjSpH6E3Dow.

    Hope Groove don't mind...
This is same event from his perspective.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdHryJvn-sI

I want to be able to produce Compilations and put them up for others to see, but am somewhat PC challenged.
I know enough to be able to fly but not do extras such as video editing.
I have an IT friend that helps me with most issues I encounter and keeps me up and flying.
I want to know what video editing programs people are using and any tips on how to make it all go smoothly.
    Gurus please share

Respect to all who fly here
Now come up and get some....

Yeah, that ShadowPlay is nice, because you can set it to pre-record a given number of minutes, and when you press a key combination it will save the last xxx minutes. After a good fight you can say, " hey, I want to get a recording of that" and Bingo, you've got it!

    Thanks Bake.

I checked out this adobe premiere pro. It looks like a nifty program but then from what I tell there is a monthly subscription.

I'd recommend DaVinci Resolve as a free, high quality video editor. You have to register with the site to get it, but it is completely free for home users.

I know OSB is out there too.
I need something super simple and intuitive to use.
I will take a look at this DaVinci also. Thanks for the heads up.

It's not free but if you need something easy to use in the spirit of Windows Movie Maker then try AVS Video Editor.

Been using this for years and it's very easy to get into. I've tried many other editors but always went back to AVS because I like how easy it is (and because I'm too lazy to adapt)

I don't mind paying if it works for me. Easy is good. I will check this one out also.
Thank you for your input Karaya.

Yeah true, it's user friendly but unfortunately it's not free.

Shotcut is a decent editing software which aint to complicated and it's free to use.

Let me know if you need help!

    Hi Hackl,

Cool video, always enjoy seeing you guys in action.

I've been using https://www.openshot.org/en/ (free and open-source editor) for simple things like trimming off unwanted bits of video but it does a lot more if you know what you want to do, also its free!

If I may suggest you include in your video titles the string "il2 cliffs of dover" or "il2 cliffs of dover blitz", makes them a lot easier to search for.

https://www.youtube.com/results?sear..._date_uploaded is my bookmark and I want your videos to show up there!

    Cheers,

    Bondi

    Hi Bondi
Thanks for kind words and the tips.
I will check out Openshot as well.
I wonder If I can still edit that title string to as you mention.
I will give it a go when I get time.

Note to self... avoid Bondi’s deadly headons at all cost.

Towards the end of Raiders a couple Sundays ago. Red was relentless in the remaining minutes. I have my ShadowPlay clips to run 2.5 minutes. Just a sample of the action that day.

Saturday's New Dawn Fades map 09NOV2019. One of the most intense raids I've ever seen Red put up on this map at Querqueville.
Special Thanks To DRock and gang for a very fun time. I enjoyed it greatly
This is just a clip I happen to take during one of the engagements.

If you have audio sync issues, you can convert the variable frame rate video from Shadowplay using a free program called Handbrake. This can change the variable frame rate video, and make is a constant frame rate. I had to do this as the program I use is CS6 Adobe Primer.

Re: Hack's Hits and Oh Sh*ts

    Meow Scharfi in a sortie.
We were dabbling in BoS and sorting out some graphics issues and went to do a test flight.
We came across a P51 and the scrap began.
It was Meow Scharfi and she is damn good.
I have a lot of respect for her and would most likely loose a one on one dual with her.
I got a lucky shot and we were happy to get out of Dodge before a posse arrived.
We talked some shyte here all in jest of course

Re: Hack's Hits and Oh Sh*ts

Shadowplay has a lot of audio sync issues with most video editors and that's why I've started to not rely on it as much. Handbrake can fix them, but every time you render you lose a bit of quality and it takes a lot more time. OBS is a lot more powerful for video recording, and doesn't have audio sync issues. The downside is you need to start recording BEFORE something happens. I tend to just start OBS at the beginning of a flight and end it at the end, then start a new file on respawn. Shadowplay is also limited to 20 minutes of shadow recording which is more than enough for most games, but not even long enough for some big dogfights in a flight sim.

Re: Hack's Hits and Oh Sh*ts

OBS can do the same as Shadowplay via the use of its replay buffer feature:

    https://obsproject.com/forum/resourc...ay-buffer.103/

What I do is start recording at the start of a sortie and record the entire thing. I usually end up with fairly large records of up to 10 to 15GB per hour of flight. I then use mkvtoolnix to cut out all the boring bits so I am left with less video material to go through when editing. If your video editor does not support .mkv files you can remux them with OBS directly back into .mp4 with no loss of quality.

My standard Shadowplay buffer time is 15 minutes, so I always have 15-20 GB file sizes.

Great Server btw. Really like flying there.
Not Much activity in cliffs US time when I get home lately so I try my luck in BoS.
Debris is modeled I found out.
Will have to adjust my Attacking technique there too as I nearly became a smoking hole a few times.
