CloD Blitz won't start - no log.txt generated

When I try to start Cliffs of Dover Blitz, a box of some kind briefly pops up along with a spinning blue circle. The box quickly goes away (too fast for me to read it) and after 3 or 4 seconds, the spinning blue circle goes away. Nothing happens after that. I followed the advice about enabling the logfile found here, but after the game fails to start, no log.txt file is generated.

I run Bitdefender Internet Security 2018, and the only way to get the game to run is to install it while the following Bitdefender settings are turned off:
(1) Antivirus>Settings>Bitdefender Shield -> Off
(2) Advanced Threat Defense -> Off
(3) Safe Files -> Off

I had previously only turned off number (1) above, but apparently that wasn't good enough. Sim runs fine now.

A good place to check as well is the Windows Event Viewer - open it up right after "launching" CloD, in the left-hand menu click Windows Logs > Application and look for errors involving launcher64.exe ( they usually come in pairs I think). Paste the logs here as they give the tech gurus an insight to what's causing the crash.

Also try the usual suspects - turn off any overlays (including the Steam one), verify game files to check if the install is broken, install latest .NET Framework runtime from Microsoft.

Hi ATAG_kiwiflieger, thanks for the advice. I opened up Event Viewer after trying to launch CoD and found the below errors for launcher64.exe. I also have Steam overlay turned off, and while I get a notice in other working games that I can turn on an NVidia overlay, I've never turned it on. I've also verified the integrity of the game files through Steam. I'm assuming I have the latest .NET framework runtime installed, but I'm not sure. Thanks a bunch for your continued help.

If so, can you rename your C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - folder?
Just add "Vanilla" at the end it so you don't have to delete it.
Will be your backup for your CloD vanilla game.

I renamed the folder by adding "Vanilla" at the end and then had Steam verify integrity of game files. Steam created a new folder to replace the renamed one, but the game still won't start.

Yes, it is set to run as Admin, plus its compatibility mode is set to Windows 8.

I've got ASP.NET installed, but no .NET. Is that the same thing? I downloaded .NET 4.7.2 and tried to install it, but the installer told me I have the most up to date version already installed. I'm not sure how to go about uninstalling or repairing ASP.NET.

1) Is your PC meet the minimum spec. requirement?

2) Trying to install on a different PC/Laptop. Just login in Steam and install CLOD Blitz version. You can install CLOD on more than one PC. However, only one license can be active at a given time. I have CLOD installed on three different PCs. Two Windows 10 and one Win 7.

3) Be sure to Registered/Verified your Steam Account and off you go.

4) Back up your valuable Data. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. ( and I mean it)
Format the hard drive and do a fresh OS installation. No junk, spyware, malware, malicious cr...p.

5) Brand new PC at no extra cost.
