There were pilots from nearly every occupied country in the RAF... some in national Squadrons like No. 310... most had escaped from Europe and made their way to England.

They were an important part of the effort against Nazi Germany.

Dark Blue World remains one of my all-time favourite movies. Even Mrs Snapper enjoyed it...mainly because of the love interest in it, of course. LOL

There were many pilots in Czechoslovakia and some had to fly in Luftwaffe . Lufwafe Walter Smejkal pilot died in 2009 near my town. c4b851c55f84397391f50955125c6493.jpg Together with the former Czech air force fighters. 1.Alois Šiška, 2.Walter Smejkal ece Lutwafe, 3.František Peřina čs pilot at RAF.normal.jpg I think a lot of men from all over Europe were flying for the Luftwaffe.
