There's a small update available on Steam which fixes this.

    I said it's small.
    :-)

In earnest: just a very few megabytes. And kbs is kilobit per second - that's a transmission rate, not a size. I think Steam shows 0kbs when it's done with downloading.

    Yup, thats correct.

Just head over to Downloads and you will see your update scheduled or already downloaded.

I may have missed this in 4.54 or v4.55 update but I like the fact the rudder effect now works with Ai aircraft rather than being jammed hard left or right

BTW, is there any way to have the engine effects show in replays? Currently if realism is set on with complex engine and overheat effects, when playing 'live' there is engine flame. When replaying it the effects are missing
(Just in-case it's a simple switch that is set to "off" in the replay code)

It doesn't show from other players while playing online aswell.
Would be neat to see it online.

Is the update automatic or do I need to update through Steam?

Hi Charlie19.. if you have the game checked " Keep up to date " in steam , it should automatically update when steam is started.

Does this mean that Anthropomorphic Control is being permanently abandoned?

Because I actually liked that feature!

As it was implemented in the game it was seriously flawed.

It caused more confusion and dislike from users than positive comments.

For those reasons, and until we can implement it in a way which is functional and accurate, we will disable it.

You only need one mildly spiking pot in one peripheral and it's the sim equivalent of having your arms and legs fall off.

Disabling that particular feature makes perfect sence to me.

Besides... the intended effect (not being able to opperate multiple inputs with the same limb concurrently) can pretty easily be replicated by the pilot

Re: TFS Developer Update - Patch 4.55 - February 2019

    Thanks TFS!

Amazed at the new work coming out!
Real or imagined, game and menus feel crispy/fresh.
Also the sound of the engines sound somehow cooler.

Like the extra wisp on the clouds...some cloud hue (bluish) looks like its cool not altogether sure though.

Was "blown" away when I hit a 109 fuel tank and the glorious flames and smoke trails looked way cool and intense.

    Thanks so much TFS!

Sadly I think the rudder jammed hard over for AI aircraft still happens - at least, I saw it yesterday on one aircraft in a formation (although the others flying the same manoevre did not). I hope this can be fixed.

I never understood why this was never fixed in the old IL2 Sturmovik 1946 sim - Oleg Maddoz was an experienced aeronautical engineer so why he didn't jump on this fifteen years ago is a mystery.

Same thing I am wondering about. No pics of the new map at all. As a matter of fact, they have stayed silent on this.

Just did a clean install. Ran game. Clouds seem a little odd in colour? (cleared cache twice). Clouds are whitish nearby but a blue/grey further away?

Re: TFS Developer Update - Patch 4.55 - February 2019

This was an added feature to replicate what clouds look like that are farther away from the viewer.

There is also a reflective effect when you are close to a cloud, light reflects off the plane and bounces off of the surrounding water vapor, I believe its called the "Seeliger Effect".

No problem with that, nice effect....but I think the lighting reflection is a tad overdone

Here's a link to the mission. I cleared my cache 5 times now, created this mission, made sure the aircraft loaded correctly, but this is the lighting effect I now see. I am uploading the mission in-case it's just me? I also show my video settings as they are mostly on high.

no need to keep cleaning your cache. The effect is working as intended.

No problem then. Just seems odd that the light on the cloud is like another sun shining from it?

Is it trying to mimic the effect at 3m 43s in this clip?

Re: TFS Developer Update - Patch 4.55 - February 2019

I'm not sure, but I think the game already has got a distance shade effect, which works on the terrain? - Makes them more blue- greyish?
I think this is what makes the targets with the "distant dot" pop up as black dots and very visible against the ground, because the dot isn't effected by this effect?
Isn't it possible to make the ingame view distance shades of the terrain also work on the cloud instead of giving them a 2nd color after a fixed distance?

please keep in mind, as its already been stated by Buzzsaw, the cloud system is getting a overhaul. What we have currently does not represent what the final product will look like.

For me these clouds are perfect - the bluer/greyer effect due to distance is exactly right (ex-CPL with plenty of time to stare at clouds!)

Hi guys, I would like to tell you that I verified a frame rate drop from 30 fps to 20 fps during the three explosions that take place in the rapid mission called 'German attack on English vehicle column. Just fly over the area when the bf110 drop the bombs and observe the three explosions, very beautiful, but that cause a very evident stutter. I work with GPU limitation at 30 fps and resolution 1920x1080 60 hz, medium details. Could future effects be slightly reduced for future versions?

Did you set 30fps limitation in your GPU driver? If so, try to switch off that limitation and check again. May be game not working properly with that limitation...
Also I recommend you switch off Extended clouds and set Forest and Buildings count to VeryLow.

I tried to do as you told me. I set the GPU to a target of 60 fps, but the result was the same, the frame rate dropped to 20 fps? Could the CPU be the cause?
