Well done for holding the Rag Tag fort almost single handed this year, Lase! Good to see Lew' up to his old tricks and with a smile on his face. Good to also put faces to some well known voices! Hopefully, next year I'll be able to join you again! Salute!

Re: Duxford 'Jolly Boys Outing' 2019, 75th Anniversary of D Day

A great day all round, and yes, the weather was cooler this year, but the rain held off which was good.

It was nice to meet Marshy and Bruv. Sorry about the greeting of "You are the b**** who shot me down the last time I was trying out the 109" Bruv, I thought afterwards that wasn't the best of first impressions

I had a good chat with Lewis. Just to let you all know (and he said it's ok for me to tell you all this), that he has been absent from the server and this forum for a while as he has not only been very busy with work, but also looking after his parents. He just hasn't had the time for much leisure stuff lately.

Lewis told me that his dad passed away a couple of weeks ago, so he has been sorting out the funeral and stuff. He wasn't going to Duxford this year but when Highseas couldn't make it due to his own Real life problems and offered Lew his ticket and camping reservation he thought it would be just what he needed.

I didn't know until the day that Lew was coming, so it was a nice surprise to see him again. He also assured me that he will get back on here at some point.

It was also nice to have a chat with monkeynut. We have met before at the last two "Legends" but I hadn't really talked with him much before.

Finally, something which might be of interest. In one of the hangars at Duxford they have a Blenheim mk 4 cockpit section, so I took this "Cliffs eye" picture for comparison

Great post, Lase! Really good to hear about all the fun you had and the members of the Community you bumped into. Loved the picture!

It was also really good to get news of Lew.' Such an influential, well respected but impossibly cheery chap could only be but badly missed over this last year! I had decided that he really must be coping with some pretty challenging stuff to keep him quiet for so long and sadly, this has been confirmed.

Many of us are all too familiar with the problem of looking after aging parents (I'm struggling with that very problem myself) and I'm sure we all sympathise with Lew' and look forward to the time when life settles again for him and he can join us again! Hang on in there, Lew! (I'll be sending you a PM as soon as I get home at the end of the week!)

    Thanks for sharing, Lase! Salute!

Re: Duxford 'Jolly Boys Outing' 2019, 75th Anniversary of D Day

    Hi fellas...

Big thanks to Seas for thinking of me when he realised he wasn't going to make Dux...xx

Yeah...Dad died about 3 weeks ago so this last week its been a case of dealing with the aftermath of that...ie...Funeral and house clearing...but things will free up for me soon after the job we are working on ends around November so I hope to get my mojo back...Its a day by day thing at the mo...

Good to see Lase and meet Marshy and bruv at Dux…

The camping was fun too even tho there was just the two of us...Catching up with Monkeynut...He's good company...We had the guitars out on the campsite and was well chilled...I needed the break so was good for me...

See you soon fellas...Don't forget me...I'm not done yet!

My condolences on the loss of your Dad, Lew. You’ve had a rough go with family concerns for many months now. I know you will see it through and look forward to when you have a bit of time to relax and join us once again — in Tobruk!

A few clips of video I captured at this years flying Legends Air Show at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Footage captures re-enactors and aircraft, then cuts to the aircraft flying. All set to audio, as playing aircraft back in flight with slow motion sounds would be painful
Will put a full audio with aircraft sounds edit up in the near future, cheers, Neil (Mysticpuma)
