Well this is an interesting set up.
I wonder how the Martlet could be used against a Friedrich.
    ca. 520 km/h vs. c. 670 km/h in 6500 m ... tough stuff!

With the Martlet you'll need to use its weight in dives as an advantage along with it being built robustly. The 4 .50's can do some quick damage too.

Looking forward to it hugely, you guys have done such a great job so far.

Really hoping for one technically simple weather-related improvement which will add so much to graphical realism and tactical challenge - a "visibility slider" so vis can be altered from slight haze down to fog...!

    Re: 5.0 Update - May 2019

Thanks for the update. I was a bit disappointed if I am honest as everything looked quite unfinished - the skin for example and during the video there is a slight stutter which I used to get playing the radio transmissions (i think using an ssd made it go away). But it's an update and not the finished product so it's interesting to see nevertheless.

The update has got me thinking and I am quite worried as although I am very confident TFS can create solid aircraft and cockpits, this has been proven already. I see it as a completely different challenge to create a high quality map. Granted the video wasn't focused on showcasing any scenery.

Thinking deeper about what the strengths of cliffs of Dover are as an engine there is good physics, damage modelling, and clickable cockpits, it also runs well on older machines and also has been complemented for the netcode (although not always) which is all well known. However what i dont hear people say often is how good the scenery is. And it is very good and very smooth, the game engine handles towns and hills really well in my opinion, better than the competition in terms of detail and fps smoothness. The France map is absolutely fantastic and I don't know whether you can make a map as good as that, especially of the desert which might be easier to achieve doesn't seem to play to the strengths of the engine.

Yep, I agree, the scenery is great, better than any other flight sim by far. And the clouds - although only of one variety (cumulus) - are totally realistic especially close-up, enabling screenshots of photographic realism.

    Re: 5.0 Update - May 2019

Thanks for your comments guys. As you know, it was a very much working progress update. Much work is still being completed.

I agree, the Cliffs map is brilliant. I was flying yesterday on a dawn map. Whether I was on the ground or in the air, it looked as real as one would get. And the sun effect through clouds was outstanding.

The release version of the North Africa map will not disappoint
