    Hi all,

I made a RAF Hawkinge template. There are 3 versions: summer, autumn, winter. Hoping you like it !

    Hi Fred! Good work!

I lived on RAF Stations for many years as a child and seeing your pictures stirred a few memories. I even watched Spitfires and Hurricanes flying at RAF Coltishall, though mostly we were all in awe of the Lightenings that went straight up after take off........ after burners ablaze!

I particularly liked your crash gates...and the 'extra' station buildings. Some of them have a hint of a 'Married Quarters' patch?

Keep up the good work, Fred! It's the details that really make it! Salute!

    Re: Template RAF Hawkinge

    Thank you so much.

I love to create template of English airfields!

I am planning to make templates for the following aerodromes: Lympne, Manston, Tangmere, Westhampnett, Thorney Island, Kenley, Biggin Hill, Croydon, Hornchurch, Gravesend, North Weald, Northolt. I would like to do Eastchurch and Rochford but in IL-2 Cliffs or Dover these aerodromes are "wrong". Pity !
I have lots of photography taken by the Luftwaffe in 1940 from English airfields.
I hope that Team Fusion, when they have time, will be able to remodel these aerodromes.

I want to thank you all for your support! It's really fun !!! Thanks also to Larry 69, the Master of the screenshots! A person I really like for his RAF Hawkinge test and for his kindness !!!
I also thank the members of Team Fusion who are doing an amazing job !!! Hat low gentlemen!

You probably already know that but there are many such photographs publicly available on GoogleEarth. Just set the time back to 1940. All areas in grey in the following picture are of available aerial photographs taken at the time. Simply zoom in to the area/airfield of interest.

    Re: Template RAF Hawkinge

EDIT - I realize that Fred901 file is just a Single Player mission, so just drop the files in:

Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions"Create a RAF_Hawkinge_Summer or Autumn or Winter folder"

An play as Single Mission, are a Hurricane (air start) for overly the base.

But from the air will don't see much.

Then use this missions as base for create another.

    Obsolete:

    Spoiler:

Save (Hawkinge) file in a folder inside.

Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions\ "Create a new folder there".*

And rename for something appropriated, for example Templates

Then in CloD main menu, go to Extras, open FMB, load English Channel map, right click over map and in "Past From File",
then select the file inside the folder Templates (or whatever name you use).

Can use this template for create a new mission, or add this "Hawkinge" in a existent mission.

*Folder need be inside \missions\ because FMB only "see" files just inside, don't allow explore other directories, disks.

    Re: Template RAF Hawkinge

Thanks, Fred, for some absolutely brilliant work. I’ve been chomping at the bit to have a bit of time to download, install, and take a look — I was well-rewarded! Looking at your masterpiece in the FMB I was flabbergasted at the amount of detail you put into it.

Thanks, Sokol, for the instructions on how to install Fred’s work. Running Fred’s simple Hurricane Single Mission first, then opening it in FMB did the trick.

It’s gents like you that make this Cliffs of Dover community great.

Any chance you could upload to the downloads page here at ATAG. Won't download, without paying $90 from MediaFire!

    Excellent stuff by the way!

I ran into the same thing, Popeye.

Within Mediafire, open each of the three Hawkinge folders, then download each individual file inside, one at a time. Media fire will let you do that for free.

Alternatively all files can be compressed to a zip file so mediafire will consider it one single file and thus we could download them all with one click...
