Nose guns with smoke passing through cockpit.

    Hello all,

I see this was mentioned in the technical bug report at the launch of blitz but I never had this problem until installing an Nvidia 1660ti. Previously I had a 960 GTX and I never saw this problem.

So far I have only noticed this on the 109 when firing nose guns while in flight the smoke passes through the cockpit.

This is really noticeable if fully zoomed out. If you are fully zoomed in you might not notice at all.

No, the window is not open

Just curious if anyone else has this issue or if there was a fix or work around for this.

Yes I see it too when firing my nose guns while fully zoomed out. The smoke seems to generate from within the cockpit (all around the instruments panel) and it ceases immediately when stopping to fire.

Here are the screenshots (in a Bf109 E4/N):

    T & N, that's interesting.
I do not fly the 109 so have not experienced this.

I would suggest that you just pretend that you are Adolf Galland smoking a cigar while flying as I believe he used to do.

    That is fascinating,
I have never noticed it before when taking a 109 up for a spin.
Also I generally stay at mid zoom so I wonder if that would make it less noticible.
Very subtle smoke too, I thought you were meaning the actual gun vapour clipping through, but this is like a steady film.

Just curious does the smoke animate at all or is it just like a "colour change" of sorts?

Perhaps something the chaps will give a quick glance at for 5.0

I don't know about these German crates, so many complexities and yet they don't even seal off their gun bays.

    Top advice from Farley though

It looks like a steady film on the picture because it only shows one frame...
While shooting you really see the smoke flying around.
It was not really annoying (at least to me) until I read this thread, and now it has become an obsession.
Nah, just kidding, but it is curious and I too would like to know if there is an easy fix. Probably "simply" moving the smoke layer down a couple of levels until hidden by the cockpit layer(s)...

    That does sound about right.
To be honest would be annoying if it was a consistent film, but being animated is a little less annoying.
It does sound as simple as moving down the layers to me, but then again I don't know much in the way of coding.

By the way I also see the smoke when firing in the G50, so it seems the bug (if it is a bug) is not only limited to Bf109’s...
