It was down for a while.... But now it is back. Or it was something inbetween. Anyway all good and nothing new today...

I wonder how laggy this streaming technology will be in Australia... I'd be surprised if the servers are local due to the price gouging. My guess they'll be in Singapore... Maybe.

    That does look decent..

I wonder how much actual imagery overlay they have used? Seems that it doesn't look overly impressive when you have close up images and lots going on (Multiplayer isn't catered for I'm guessing) but time will tell and still looks very good.

Be interesting to see if we have a CFS on the horizon

    Recommended specs:

To get these ideal results, the simulator requires a more recent
Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X or Intel i7-9800X CPUs paired with high-end
AMD Radeon VII and Nvidia RTX 2080 GPUs with at least 8GB of VRAM,
    32GB of RAM, a 150GB SSD and a 50Mbps connection.

Cheaper option is to just buy a real plane then?

Unfortunately, to install this game I have to completely upgrade my PC.

These are just the recommended, does not mean if you dont have that you cant run it,

I have an 8 years old CPU and I am able to run this game on High just fine

Thank you, because as I looked at the requirements I did not even try to set, I thought useless.

I upgraded mine (see specs below). and in the airliners. Im lucky to get 20 fps on medium, however I am running a 49"curved 4K monitor as a very high resolution, many with high end machines are complaining of low fps. I hear future patched should address some of this

Judging by my experience with similar hardware it does look like the high resolution may be the problem. I run at 1080p virtually everything maxed and get a reasonable (for a flight sim) 40-70 fps.

    Re: Flight Simulator 2020

Actually Fred it was the problem, I meant to say that in the post. Lowering the resolution cured the low fps. and it still really looks great !!

    Re: Flight Simulator 2020

I've been playing around with this sim for over 2 weeks now.
My specs are below. Been running this on Ultra setting but reducing the FPS setting to 30.
GPU temps have been as high as 86 Celsius. (at 91 it should shut down) ((hope I'm doing no harm)) I have my PC set on a "balanced" setting instead of "performance".
I have a Dell with Alienware Command Centre where I check the temperatures occasionally whilst making these silly videos.
Eventually, I will try to learn the Garmin G3000 and the higher performance planes in the sim. I bought the standard game and have been travelling around the planet in
the Cessna 152. Keeps me busy in the mornings here on the previously frozen prairie waiting for my online friends to join CLOD. Then it's back to Fear The Puss.
Intel Core i7 9700k (8-core), 12MB Cache, Overclocked up to 4.6 GHz. 16GB DDR4 XMP at 2933MHz Dual Channel HyperX
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti with 11GB GDDR5X. 512GB M.2 PCle NVMe SSD (Boot)
    Alienware 850 Watt power supply liquid cooled. Alienware 34in Curved WQHD 3440 x 1440 @ 120Hz. G-SYNC. DP 1.2 mode.
    Thrustmaster 1600, Saitek rudder pedals.

Interesting news: "According to analysts of the American company Jon Peddie Research (JPR), within the next three years Microsoft Flight Simulator from Asobo Studio will stimulate sales of computer "iron" in the amount of about $2.6 billion".
