    In awe of blitz

Just a big thank you to the TF team for making the dream real.

I used to play IL2 1946 a lot a few years ago, and flew for the Tangmere Pilots No.1 squadron as Red 2.
About the time the original Clod appeared, I had real life issues over my wife’s health, and I stopped online playing.
I could not get to grips with Clod very well either.
Over the years i have flown xplane and DCS offline, and more recently IL2 BOS/BOM offline in career mode.

This week I installed Blitz, and all I can say is WOW!
smooth, fantastic graphics, great immersion, and its the Battle of Britain!

Well done all in the community for making this a great sim now.

i have recently retired, to care full time for my wife, and hope to join multiplayer again when a bit more practised.

    Welcome back
The multiplayer experience adds so much to the immersion.
In the meantime do not hesitate to ask for help to get back to speed.
Sorry about your wife's condition. Hoping all will be OK, and wishing you a lot of courage.

    Hello Tufty!

Welcome to the ATAG forum or perhaps that should read welcome upon your return, as I see you have been a member for some time.

It is always nice to see experienced simmers return.

As you have discovered TFS have not only 'Kept the dream alive' but have gone beyond what any of us could have hoped for.

Awe is certainly the right word to use here and like you I was amazed at CloD when I first encountered it. Also like you I had flown IL2 BoS offline but decided to go online in multiplayer for this sim. I had never ventured online before but I was so glad I did. The community we have is second to none and the friendliest you could hope to meet.

We are very close now to getting the new Western Desert campaign with all the new flyable aircraft, maps etc. TFS are doing us proud and deserve all the support we can give them.

I, like you, am retired and have only really got into this in later life. I hope your retirement goes well and that you get some quality time with your wife.

If real life permits please come and join us on the 'Allies v Axis' ATAG server and get back into multiplayer sooner rather than later. I was absolutely hopeless when I decided to go on but it was the best thing I did. By doing so I linked up with a number of other pilots who were also learning the ropes and we still fly together when we can more than three years on.

Team Speak is a must but just use the ATAG Teamspeak channel and say 'Hello' to the chaps flying at the time. If you need help just ask and somebody will help you.

If you want to link up drop me a PM and I am sure it can be arranged so that we can get you orientated.

I am pleased that you posted and look forward to flying with you.

    Welcome to our skies, Tufty.

    I highly recommend using TeamSpeak.

It’s a great way to find a wingman, and find the fight.

    Welcome to our skies Tufty!

Aye, TFS have done a wonderfull job, and have much more in the bag comming up!

Main thing that got me at first was all the shadows haha! And the sun is pretty fantastic too. But TFS have also made some great adjustments with graphics and lighting.

    Have fun flying!

Hi Tufty...thanks for an interesting post.

So sorry to hear your wife is not so well. I hope things improve for you both. But we ARE delighted to have you come and join us. You're absolutely right.... this is a crackin' sim and it has a very bright future because, as already mentioned, TFS are working on some truly amazing improvements.

Yes, Team Speak is the way to go and there is lots of information on any subject you care to mention, within this Forum. If you would like to team up with somebody for a recon' flight around the Cliffs maps just shout....I'd do that myself....and we can arrange a place and time easily. We have a fantastic bunch of guys making up our CLoD Community and they are all just like you and me....aviation mad!

In the meantime, get stuck in, have fun and hope to meet you in our CLoD skies very soon. Salute!

    Re: In awe of Blitz

Great post Tufty, and welcome mate.

The TFS team have done an amazing job. No doubt about it.

Seeing the inside machinations of what the team are doing now for 5.0, which will be North Africa based, I am simply in awe, and so will everyone when they see upcoming updates.

We share you views on Cliffs, and you now share our passion.

Looking forward to winging up with you.

    Cheers,

    Pattle
