    Glider Sunrise flight over Hamburg

Last weekend, the alarm kicked me out of my bed at 03:00 am, one hour later I was at the airfield and 45 minutes later in the air for my first sunrise flight. Oh, boy that was fun.

A little dive attack - 220 km/h at 10 meters hight ... This video is not listed. Usually those funny stunts are forbidden in our club but it was very early in the morning and our flight controller wasn't around.

Stunning! I just started learning to fly gliders a couple of months ago here in NZ, it's wonderful up there.

Really enjoyed both the videos and the choice of soundtracks.

Almost something spiritual about the sunset flight, being between the earth and the sky as the sun comes up.

    Thanks for posting Henry.

We want pictures! We want pictures!

(BTW "Kiwiflieger" your nickname sounds like a german/austrian who is living in NZ)

These were from a few months ago, I'll keep it short so I don't hijack the thread.

BTW my nickname came from exclusively flying the German aircraft when I started out with Cliffs, I'm not German but I speak just enough to get me into trouble and not enough to get me out of it

Nice videos Henry and nice shots Kiwi!

I wish I could learn to fly gliders but sadly there's no glider club or instructor near my town, and I'm too busy with uni as well. But one day I hope to try it!

Wow! What a beautiful landscape! With all these nice hills it must be perfect for thermal gliding.
Well, around Hamburg the landscape is "ironed by nature". On good days we got some eastbound cloud streets (wolkenstrassen) so its possible to fly a trinagle along the shore of the baltic sea towards Poland then turn south to Berlin and then west back to Hamburg.
