Is it just me or are they taking some extra steps into their effects quality?
I think they are heading down the right track, with some work.
And the spark effects done right me thinks

.......and not a single wing off despite what some on these forums would have you believe about the BOS damage model.

Have they always had animated crewmen walking around like that?

Since Battle of Stalingrad. They leave damaged vehicles too, IL-2:46 style, but are not much convincing, instead "run fo your life" walk more like DayZ zombies.

Hmm "like that" would suggest some purpose.

Mostly they walk around like the shellshocked undead in front of you and into your props. Clever mission builder keep em well out of the way and they can add to the immersion if its done right. Not so clever mission builders count such road kill as "friendly fire" which buggers up your stats. Very very clever mission builders put em across all the bits of the airfield people may John Wayne it.

"Bods" also leave the AA and AAA if you strafe them so you can silence small AAA for a time even if you dont damage the actual gun. Leaving involves walking quickly then falling face flat having presumably died of a heart attack or tripping on their boot laces.. Same for Jones The Steam driving the trains and all the poor sods hes transporting to the front. Run Forest Run.

Of course if you are zooming over em at 600km/h as they do this it looks pretty ok especially if the B of the Bang coincides with them diving.

Certainly better than the slow-mo bionic man- equse troops in DCS
