I was told this morning they were in the midst of setting up a new campaign.

Did the Luftwaffe stop bombing?

During the last two weeks or so, our squad was on the Campaign server four times (for several hours).
We had a lot of fun, there were loads and loads of AI enemy fighters plus human flown fighters, very vicious flak, but we did not encounter a single blue bomber during all the time.

TWC is proud to have hosted over 500 unique players from the September start of it's latest Campaign.

There are some areas that some of the new players do not seem to be aware of.

First this is a goal oriented scenerio in order to win a map certain targets must be taken out by either side.
The first side to destroy all primary targets will be rewarded with more planes on the next map. Individual pilots need to help their side destroy these all important targets located on the tab 4/6 menu.

Second the tab 4 / menu has many options from simple to complex information from server is sent to chat window so make sure you can see a chat window or requesting information will not work unless you have server messages enabled in your chat window.

Examples are from friendly or enemy radar contacts, these are relevant to your position from the very instant you call. Stats yours and your teams.Current primary targets or current secondary targets. Airport damage, nearest friendly airport, aircraft supply aircraft available to you based on number of kills with no death, time left, number of aircraft left in campaign.

Cover available let me explain about this as this is important to bomber pilots some times as a member of a squad you have no teammates online and wish to risk your current alone in the skies with your bomber well this is just for you there are 8 escort aircraft of any type available to you during an single 6 hour mission you can access.
there are conditions however
1. you must be in a heavy bomber fb are not allowed escort
2. you must choose the type and number of escorts
3. you must be on the ground ready for takeoff roll but stationary to call for escorts
4. once the mission is over you must release escort to land and go back into stock from which they came
5.only 8 aircraft of any type are allowed for escort duty in a single map session.

But what about the blue AI bombers? We have been flying several times more now and still did not meet any.

You will find lots of them when the map first starts, but once they are gone there doesn't appear to be any more of them released during the map.

They also will not re attack a destroyed target they again switch to a new primary or secondary target.

Very understandable indeed since the Campaign is not attempting to recreate a historical scenario.
I just wondered because, it is somehow deep in my mind that the BoB was mainly about British fighters fending off German bombing attacks.
On sunday we finally met a flight of Stukas. But they behaved like fighters and the remaining three or four just kept following a Spit without ammo as if glued to it

I have to try the AI escorts. Otherwise it is pretty frustrating if you are alone or a small group. Blennies carry so little bomb load and are so vulnerable ...
In the Hurri FB you stand at least a little chance to return home, but the damage you do is small as well. And, since you can't blow up fuel tanks with a Beau there is not too much use for my favourite aircraft.

During the BoB the RAF waged a substantial bombing campaign mainly targeted at the German landing barges forming up in the ports and canals, during this campaign the bomber force suffered very heavy casualties and performed many brave deeds mainly in daylight against heavy AA and fighter opposition. Unfortunately it is largely unreported and recognised.

Lately I have complaints from new players that there are no aircraft to fly on the German side. This is due to players not returning aircraft to friendly bases everyone started with the same amount of aircraft. British pilots have returned the aircraft no matter how shot up they are to a friendly airbase. Hence no shortage of British aircraft.

I have increased the amount of production to 6x the amount for the germans in order to finish the campaign this will stay in effect for 1 week only so if you fly axis then return your aircraft to a friendly base for repair. Otherwise the campaign will be ended due to no AXIS aircraft.
