installing steam and games on a drive other than operating system

OK I got a bug up my butt and thought it would be cool to separate my operating system from my flight sim and clod

so I put windows on a new 250Gb ssd. and have a Samsung evo 500 for steam and games , the evo 500 is blank. so docent steam need certain folders that the operating system has "program files 86, " my documents act

I set steam to download to my evo 500 and the install button stays greyed out ?

Usually I just change out the C: to the drive letter I want, but let it create the folders it would do in the C drive.
Have you tried to atleast make a folder into the new drive?

Tisbin:I haven attempted to create any folders.BUT the first item I installed in the dedicated flight sim ssd Drive(F) was natural point (trackir). it went in and works and there were some files created . now the weird thing is when I look into those created files there's no natural point, its all in the "C" drive. gawd I'm confused

From Steam menu right click on the game, select properties, go to the "local files" tab, then click on "move install folder".

Then select where you want it moved to.

and click Move Folder. You're done
