Re: windows 10 and older PCs

My PC is old (8 years+) and to be fair Windows 10 is the more stable Windows I have use, since Windows 3.x.
Since their release (2015) I reinstalled just one time, due HDD failure.

The only CON is the update 1903 after install this (by "accident) I notice performance degradation and simple things like rename a .ogg sound file start take minutes...
But I am able to remove this update.

If anybody is willing to, please make a thread about all the Win 10 updates that did harm CloD.
I still use Win 7, but might upgrade anytime aswell, so it is important to others and me to know which Win 10 udpates I should avoid, unless it got fixed already by another update.

I'm a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit user from 2017 and so far not a single Windows update have interfered with the game.
The only important thing, IMHO, to avoid problem with the joysticks/throttle/pedals/etc is to block the updates to their drivers ( Thing easy to be done and that will prevent Win 10 from eventually mess your configuation settings about these devices )
In my opinion you can install Win 10 anytime because it's a very good OS, easy to be used/configurated and very stable.
Last note, if installing Win 10, is highly suggested to have a quite capacious HDD/SSD because the OS, differently from previous Windows versions, occupies quite a lot of space ( with the last updates I think that the space occupied by the OS is something around 100-120 GB )

Someone in a Falcon-BMS-forum suggested to turn the "Game Mode" off (under settings/gaming/game mode). I have it turned "off", but didn't compare it with "on".

Even Win10 Pro 64bit files only use about 25GB max. But u are correct about needing a more spacious HDD. Games like DCS for example can take up 150GB. Add a couple more games and a 500GB HDD fills up pretty qwik. Thankfully 1Terabyte ssd drives are more affordable now and if u have a newer motherboard the NVMe 1.3 M2 1Terabyte ssd cards are a worthwhile investment as they are sooo fast.
