Yvette Lundy was a school teacher prior to the war.

After France was occupied, she helped forge documents and provided assistance which allowed British and US pilots to escape after being shot down over France... the route led to Spain and Portugual, code named "Possum".

She also forged documents for Jews hiding from Nazi persecution.

In 1944, she was captured, interrogated by the Gestapo, tortured and then sent to first the Ravensbruck Death Camp, then Buchenwald.

She survived both camps after being liberated by Soviet Troops... although her brother, who was also imprisoned, died.

Refused to talk about her experiences till 1959, when she wrote an autobiography called "Le Fil de l'araignée" or "The Spider's Web".

She then was active in teaching about her experiences to many different schools across France.

A character modeled after her was seen in the 2009 French film "Kokoro".

A picture of her and her class during the time she was active in the Resistance: (she's the one without the name tag)
