I just saw this on il2 BoS site............it is stunningly good!
My God!
Cliffs has always had really nice clouds (probably my favourite in any sim), but that's a step up again. Does anyone in TFS know if it's possible to add the condensation effect that we see in BoX when flying through cloud, or is that an engine limitation?
They look great. They give of a feeling of randomness, which is always a breath of fresh air when it comes to simulations.
super!!
condensation in the cabin?
Dynamic rain?
Or it will be too much to ask
the problem I see is the render engine(most likely) not being able to render lensing effects from raindrops, so that would require an engine rewrite if that is the case.
I know nothing of all this technical stuff with clouds, but what I do know is that the clouds in the picture look pretty impressive to me
Intel i5-2500 CPU @3.30GHZ Quad core , NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti , 8GB RAM , Windows 10 pro 64-Bit, ASUS VS 278 27" Monitor , Microsoft Sidewinder 2 Joystick
Saitek pro Flight Yoke, quadrant and rudder pedals
PS3 eye Head Tracker using Trackhat software. Secondary Head Tracker , Ed Tracker
Looks pretty slick guys. I posted it on /r/hoggit as well.
My jaw hit the floor. These look incredible. I know some have said they liked the clouds in CLoD, but personally I always felt they stuck out like giant, floating cotton balls. They were impressive insofar as being fully 3D and volumetric, so this just takes their technical achievements to another level.
The lighting on them as well looks far improved. Will the clouds be properly lit from the sun? So if there is the possibility of multiple layers, will layers shaded by those blocking the sun be simulated accordingly?
I truly think this update alone catapults the graphics engine to modern standards.
Those clouds look absolutely real! Amazing!. It brought that screenshot to life. They are so close to the deck you could hide or get lost in them almost instantly..
Cheers

I recall MP posting this photo fairly recently.
Is this indeed showing the new weather featured in the OP?
Attachment 41044
Well it is a testament to how good this new weather model is looking that I could believe that was within the game engine!
:O
Looking fabaroo!
Realistic +

Really stunning, i'm not going to be fighting much on v 5.0 i'll be spending all my time taking screenshots.

Wow, these are looking real nice, cant wait to get lost in them
Will TFS 5.0 clouds allow us to hide in them from pursuers, or will they be computed on client side?
