    German Bomber problem

Hi, does anyone know why the bomber start moving the nose like a heavy metal guitar player (and it doesn't stop anymore) when I activate the auto-pilot in Mode 22 ?? the plane is trimmed and goes about 300km/h in the programmed direction of the autopilot band ,. Sometimes it works fine but I don't know the reason :

    Thanks

    Re: German Bomber problem

    Hi addict,

This is an already rather old issue, introduced in one of the early TF patches as far as I remember.
I did not find it, but there was a thread giving advice about how to reduce its effect (with more or less success). One way was to lower the flaps to some degree.
If you have access to TF Bugtracker you can find some more details here.

To be fair the "Dolphin" flight in mode 22 is in the original release version of the game, never explained why of fixed by original developers.

@ OP: Try leave the plane trimmed for level flight before engage mode 22.

I think this is also specific to the Ju-88, the He-111 works fine.

Well addict, you did mention guitar...
My suggestion is to have the crew turn down the music!

Hope you get it sorted out!

    Re: German Bomber problem

To stop the Ju88 "dolphin" effect when hitting mode 22 I do the following:

    1. Climb to 6-800m above intended bombing altitude as the plane will lose this height before stabilizing
    2. Trim the elevator as much as possible (watch RPM) by alternating a couple of trim-down clicks followed by a couple of prop-pitch decrease clicks until plane "feels" stable
    3. Hit mode 22 (watch RPM)
    4. Extend flaps until plane starts shaking, then immediately retract flaps (watch RPM)
    5. Enjoy the stable bomb run (double-check bombs armed, bomb bay doors open, and bombing mode properly set to desired single, series or salvo mode)

    Re: German Bomber problem

Ok! with the flaps magic trick it is solved. I didn't know it was an old bug.
Thank you all very much !
