Depends on the version.
A Spitfire IIB has the same engine as the IIA but it is heavier... so yes, performance suffers.
A Spit V has a more powerful engine, so that compensates.
All Spitfires with cannon are heavier so they have higher stall speeds.
the mkIIa is about 6,175lbs fully loaded and the mkVb about 6,500lbs... Ive seen numbers vary so it depending on the source.
Vb's include both the early version rated at +12 boost and the later version rated at +16 boost.
And don't forget the HF models with the Merlin 46 high altitude engine... also in +12 and +16 boost versions.
The +16 versions of both the standard and HF versions are both available in Tropical kit... the early versions did not make it to N Africa due to the stupidity of the RAF Brass.

Great! My appetite for 5.0 is whetted even more, soaked actually S!
whilst a bit less manouvreable due to the increase in weight you also have to factor in the massive advantage of being able to push negative G and not have your engine cut out.
This helps keep your speed up when fighting, changing directions, rolling and in the stalls etc.
Buzz will have to confirm, but 'Miss Schillings Orifice' will most likely not be present in the early (+12lb boost) mkVs. The later (+16lb boost) mkVs might have them.
Always makes me smile.
Her orifice is legendary.
Where as her sister's (Moneypenny)..... not so much.
