I have learnt that I can either take a Spitfire and just wait to get shot down, or I can take a Hurricane FB and try and hit something before being shot down

Same here. Often much more satisfying to take a Blennie or FB than a Spit.
    Nice video, keep fighting

    Re: Flying the Hurricane FB

What I like about the Hurri FB is that should you happen upon an enemy during a sortie you can attack it, just as I did to that heinkel in the video, but... um, you saw how that ended!!

    Hello Laser....

It takes us all time to get comfortable in our aircraft... there is a complex series of learning equations going on and the curve is steep with the veteran Aces on the servers.

Keep trying and you'll suddenly find yourself turning the tables one of these days.

I think you will enjoy the Hurricane II's... lots of ground pounding available there... bigger bombs, 20mm and 40mm cannon and more horsepower.

And likely more targets on the Tobruk map for you to blow up.

    Hi Buzz,

I have been flying cliffs getting on for four years now and yes, I have always struggled against not only the vets and aces, but pretty much all of the 109, 110 and G50 guys when flying fighters.

My favourite was, and I guess still is the Spitfire, but I have come to realise that, just as it was for real, some are natural fighter pilots while others just aren't cut out for it... and I very much fall into the latter category I am afraid. I can take off, I can land, my navigation is... um... improving, but fighter versus fighter combat is just too difficult for me... even after four years, and with help and advice from many in the community ( for which I am most grateful). I still get shot down far too easily, which is why I have taken to flying the Hurricane FB more of late for the reasons I have mentioned above.

As for Tobruk, I am very much looking forward to flying the Hurri II's , along with a Beaufighter with bombs on, and of course the Wellington and all of the other awesome additions to the plane set... not to mention the challenge of navigating the new desert map.

I am also very much looking forward to making video's of myself in action over Tobruk in due course

I like the Beaufighter DerDa, but my experiences with the Beau are the same as for the spitfire so far.

It's all well and good having those cannon in the front, but you've got to be able to get an enemy in your sights for them to do any damage.

I will definitely be flying the Beau more once it has bombs on though
