    Sup guys S

    Hey guys,

Long time since I've been around here

Hello to all the old school flyers still here, its been a while ~S~ and great work to everyone involved with the new map etc being worked on, looks great.

Okay, so I'm going to be around flying now and then but have a question regarding Blitz

In a nutshell, If I play the original MOD version of CloD all my sttings are there that I want, so how do I get those to work with blitz? I've unchecked the Sync option in Steam but cannot seem to copy the Confuser files etc over and get them to work.

I'm selecting the file location to copy too by right clicking on CloD Blitz via Steam Library>manage files>pasting ConfUser into here. I have also tried copying and pasting the same files from a backed up location on my PC from when I was flying before, but again once I launch the game, all keys are clear and nothing is mapped.

Surely I don't have to remap everything do I?

Have not played this game, or any game for such a long time, Id rather have everything mapped as I did before as opposed to going back and fourth remembering what I need to map and what I don't.

    What am I missing?

BLITZ version is a free TFS upgrade via steam !

Just updsate and be amazed !

    and welcome home.

    oh update

the 1c folder in my documents is still where the confusr.ini files and so on end up...

just copy your old ones into there after updating the game in steam... thats what i did and it was painless.

Oh I have it installed pal..

I just cannot copy my old Confuser fils over into Blitz, its just not working.

As I said above, I've unchecked the Steam Sync option and am trying to copy ConfUsr and User files over.

Not have any luck at all with it.

I'm a bit rusty with knowledge, its something simple

If I am selecting Blitz>Manage files and copying over my saved ConfUsr file and then launching, surly that should surfice right?

What is odd is that I also have on Steam the Normal TF version to 4.3 or whatever it was last time I was playing, if I launch that version, everything is there and ready to go (all mapped from when I was using it last)

they have to go in the 1c folder in "my documents" not the one in the game install. That one as far as i can tell is redundant.

    Tried this also..

Should on of those folders be named Blitz in 1cSoftclub?

I have the game installed in Steam, but is not showing as that in Softclub..

    I have two copies there:

    il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover

il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD

    Re: Sup guys S

    Ok,

I've tried all the above which is what I originally thought, so glad I got that right as I thought I was going mad. Its still not worked.

So in regards to steam library, there are only 2 games there, 1 is normal CloD from when I played it last, this DOES have everything I want mapped as it was before, all settings...everything So when I lauch this game via Steam everything is how it should be.

Now when I launch Blitz via the same way, its vanilla in the sense that nothing is mapped, no keys nothing.

So for all the stupid people in the room (me) where do I find the ConfUser files from the version I need and is working as I want it and copy it to Blitz.

    ahh.. hang on.

    How old is your build?

The way peripherals were recognised by the game changed a year or two back.

so if your build is very old you will need to remap...

    but only once

To be fair mate, I don't even have the controllers plugged in atm, as I've just updated all drivers etc etc, trying to get to grips with what's been happening with development etc.

Im doing all this just through the controller options in main menu... My older version is populated with how I had it before, Blitz has nothing there.

It would still show what is mapped wouldnt it even though the controller isnt physically plugged in.

That would be fookin hilarious if that was the reason this isn't working, but I doubt that would make any difference at all...surely

    Re: Sup guys S

    Hi Jamz and welcome back!

Highseas is right, Blitz recognizes the peripheral ID's differently to how the old ver 4.312 used to. Unfortunately, that means that you will need to remap all your controls. Also, every once in a while Windows 10 (if that's the OS you're using) will throw a curveball at us by way of a huge update -- and rename your USB ports. This basically wipes out your peripheral assignments which requires a remapping once again.

One trick I've used that has reduced (but not eliminated) this USB renaming PITA is to use a powered USB hub for my peripherals. Not only does this free up the other USB ports in my PC, but it's handy to have joystick/throttle/rudder pedals/etc all plugged in together.

Hope to see you on the ATAG Server soon!

    Cheers,

    Snapper

    Re: Sup guys S

    copy confuser.ini

    plug all peripherals in.

    start game

bind just one inupt in the AXIS controls or a button on the stick / one on the throttle etc... something you can remember ... like the fire button !!

    exit game.

open the conuser.ini in the 1c folder in my ocumnets.

find the recently bound input and copy the controler text preceeding the input (it's new peripheral ID)

open old conuser.ini and find the same input...

do a find and replcace to update ALL other bindings to the new peripheral ID

bingo... everything mapped in one easy move.

I've been Highseas... and I'm here for the whole week.

    Hi Snapper, long time m8

    Yes, I'm using Windows 10.

But wouldn't that just effect the physical aspect of the controllers?... Surely you can still save ConfUser files and just copy and paste them over to the directory?

    Yes, I'm using Windows 10.

But wouldn't that just effect the physical aspect of the controllers?... Surely you can still save ConfUser files and just copy and paste them over to the directory?

    [QUOTE=ATAG_Snapper;347458]Hi Jamz and welcome back!

One trick I've used that has reduced (but not eliminated) this USB renaming PITA is to use a powered USB hub for my peripherals. Not only does this free up the other USB ports in my PC, but it's handy to have joystick/throttle/rudder pedals/etc all plugged in together.

Snapper, I am considering getting a powered USB hub to tidy up wiring and free up ports on PC. how many USB slots on your hub, I resume that there is no noticeable performance drop, also any particular brand you would recommend.

Jack, I’m away from my PC, but my powered USB hub has 7 USB ports - not sure of the brand but any quality model would suffice. One note: my hub is several years old, so I believe the USB ports are 2.0; I would guess current ones support 3.0 (or better?). Worth a look, although I don’t think that would affect any lag or other performance issues between the PC and your peripherals.

If anyone has any further/more accurate info, please don’t hesitate to jump in!
