    Re: DCS Spitfire raid

It was me in the enemy a/c... I was patrolling high above, all I knew was their target was Le Havre, but timing wise I had no idea where they could be.

I spotted the streaming spitfire, tried to position myself for one hit-and-run - it was only me in a FW190 - and dove in.
There was only one little flaw in my plan: I had not yet setup my guns, so I could only do a fly-by and yell taka-taka-taka - which I did!

For sure, after the initial pass, I should've kept running south, but hey ho, I was there for their fun ... so turned around to give the streamer another bit of a scare

It all worked out nicely for the Video. Never realized it was being recorded though.

    Good fun ...

Is that a regular mission they do on a weekend (or whenever) on the DCS SoW server ?

    Re: DCS Spitfire raid

We popped in there yesterday for a bash, 4 Spitfires on patrol, I attempted bombing some panzers and then a crazy fight broke out. Not 100% whether they were AI or humans because the latest open beta seriously screwed the score/stats system.

Not a fan of Phil's cloud layer mission as it hurts frame rates especially when busy. (for DCS this is anymore than 20 people in a server) It's variable so missions usually last 4 hours or so and then rotate settings. Much prefer a nice clear day to see the hun in the sun.

I'm just uploading a film of a fight I had P51 vs 109K4 yesterday, it's a nice one as it started on equal terms and showed how the P51 can get slow and still out fly the dreaded 109 K4.

The server is up mostly 24/7 with a rotation of historically based missions covering the days following D-Day. I think that mission was afternoon of 13 June 1944. Weekends are busy.

Server updates are posted on their Discord and Website

A lovely bit of flying by a well-disciplined Squadron, perfectly executed two a Brest formation, with a fishtail command to enter line astern on final approach to the target, all the while watching each other's six......Perfect, Just as it should be done.
