This philosophy of stoicism as the ancient Romans would have understood it or modern Americans as Shit Happens, suck it up and move on is a reactionary philosophy of defeatism and passiveness. people do indeed need to keep calm and carry on , but need to listen to the health experts and epidemiologists and be proactive in protecting themselves ,their families and communities. In democracies we put our leaders in place because we think they are fit for purpose, listen to what they say and blank out naysayers. keep yourself safe, keep your family safe and your community safe and "Carry On". good luck to all.
