    New Update - All Confirmed Flyable Desert Aircraft!

    Latest Beta images of all confirmed flyable desert war aircraft, coming to the highly anticipated expansion to IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz.

    Not all aircraft shown are complete, with cockpits, external components, special effects and sounds to be finalised by release.

    At the end of the video, we have included a full list of all flyable aircraft, including all variants, available in both IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz, which you will need to own in order to play the expansion, along with the outstanding channel and desert war types and variants.

    Let us know which of the new aircraft will be the first you will fly when the game is released!

    Nice job on the video. From the list at the end of the video I counted 133 aircraft. Which one first you ask? I will be like a kid in a candy store, jumping from one to the other, and I just realized, the time it will take to proficient with any of them!

    How are you supposed to chose with that lot?
    Drop some bombs from a beaufighter always gonna be first anyway. May not be anything greatly different cockpit wise to current one but at least gives me time to consider tomahawk/kittyhawk/Hurricane IIc/Gladiator choice or whether I just try dropping a lotta bombs from a wellington.

    No kidding most most impressive!
    May I ask if there will be any single missions of campaigns released with the first go-round?
    ( One small niggling criticism - can you possible get rid of the "Galland Mustachio" on the German crews????)

    Interesting list of aircraft variants. A couple of remarks:

    - I would change the suffix Trop from the Cr.42's name into AS (Africa Settentrionale which means North Africa);
    - If I remember correctly, the two torpedoes on the Wellington were stacked vertically in the central bomb bay;

    For pure pleasure flying the Gladiator. Pilots have always said it's wonderful in the air - though not so much on the ground.

    For immersion the Wellington looks amazing.

    Hurricane IIb / IIc etc - actually anything that breaks stuff on the ground while the proper fighter experts romp and frolic up high in the thin air.

    Lovely stuff all round.

    Kittyhawk 1a and when I'm fed up massacring blues in that, the Spitty VB. When I feel life is not worth it, the Wellington, with parachutes stored in racks because crew could not wear them and move about in aircraft. Then I might go to the darkside, who knows where that could end? great video Pattle.

    Re: New Update - All Confirmed Flyable Desert Aircraft!

    [Nods and applauds]

    Fantastic range of aircraft and models from the years of the war that really capture my imagination, before aircraft got a little too good. Yeah, so maybe ignore the 109F4 from my appreciation

    I hope there is a career mode with some guts to it on offer; for me it is more important what my pilot is given to fly, than what he chooses to fly.

    But first aircraft to take up at all for free flight or dogfight? Probably one of the US ones, then a Wellington, then that 108 creature, then some of the Italian ones, then a Hurricane with cannons...

    Does the "NF" designation on several of the new planes stand for NightFighter? If so, will they have a/a radar or ground controllers vectoring them toward targets?

    Hmmmmm, this will be a difficult one, probably hope strait into either a IId and try out those fantastic cannons, or take a Vb and just go for a twirl

    Bombs in the plural sense meaning a total of 2.
    I'm also looking forward to it but for low alt attacks we won't be retiring the lovely Blennie.

    Very real reason that coastal command were losing 11planes for every ship sunk in 1942, and 1 in 4 aircraft prior to the strike wings. And the airforce 1940 until early 43, lost 648 aircraft for 107 ships sunk (having total of 15000tons).
    Whether the beaufighter guns and bombs will be more effective at destroying ship flak placements as in real life without just having to sink the whole ship. Just got to fly beaufighter first, second and third to find out.

    The Bf110G was never planned or promised for 5.0, it is outside the scope of the expansion. The G model entered production in December 1942.
    If anything a Bf110F with DB601E engines would fit into the expansion as this model was produced between Dec '41 and Dec '42.
