Hi, I'm trying to figure out the waypoint actions, can anyone help please? Obviously the names are quite clear, but how do they need setting up, and what overides what?
1) Cover: I'm assuming this is for fighters to protect a ground target, and that you set it using the waypoint 'Set' and then click on the object. But will fighters defend anything that approaches here, or just bombers, or do they wait until an attack is under way (i.e. damage done)? Or maybe they only attack aircraft that are targetting that object on their own waypoint setting (a set target for ground attack).
2) Attack Bombers: I'm assuming this is as it says, but will the AI defend against fighters or keep attacking the bombers regardless. Does the waypoint have to be Set on something or is it just any bombers in the vicinity. I assume that you need to set waypoints for a patrol each with attack bombers as the action and wait for the enemy to fly in to the area? Is this (command) actually better to use than the cover command?
3) Attack fighters: Hoping this is pretty striaght forward, and I'm assuming the flight will just ignore bombers. Does it differ greatly in end result from the escort command; I figure the difference is that escort will keep the fighters weaving over the escort, but attack fighters is just a 'go and kill them' kind of thing?
4) Escort: I figure you need to set parallel waypoints to the bombers being escorted, and set the escort command each time linking to the bombers using the set button. Am i right please?
I am trying my own tests on these, but it takes sooo long to set up and view, if anyone can just shed a bit of knowledge on these it will greatly help me and be much appreciated.
