Can I still add figures to artillery & vehicles?

I vaguely remember that you could somehow add figures to most of the vehicles & guns on the ground by changing a preference in one of the ( some config?) files.I noticed in looking around in new game play that figures are missing.So can I still do this? If so how?
(BTW - I remember early on tin CloD I was amazed to see a bicyclist bicycling around the perimeter of my aerodrome.It was so cool! In Great Battles there are solder figures "zombies" wandering around aimlessly as well.They do actually help with immersion so I wish maybe there will be a mod someday that may do the same for us in Allied & Axis airfields...???
