RAF - Neutral Position for Flaps & Gear

    Kameraden,

Having issues coming up with a way to use my Saitek Switch panel for gear deployment and retraction. The issue is the extra touch to get back to Neutral either up or down, I only wish an additional mapping was available for this third command (Neutral).

How are others managing this process?

I use an analog control...up is 100%, down is 0%, neutral is 50%.

Are RAF planes and RAF planes.

Spitfire "undercarriage" for example accept toggle command in one button, because are up or down, or up/down in two buttons, avoiding drop gear by accident, what happens with the dumb toggle G.

Seems that Saitek Switch panel LG control has only up/down position (or 2 buttons press), what is fine for Spitfire (and similar LG planes) "undercarriage", including being "safety".

But for Hurricane (Blenheim, Beau...Bf 109) no, because their "undercarriage" has a neutral position.

In controls assign a key for LG Up and another for LG down, e.g. Keypad - and keypad + (down/up respectively), what fit well for Spitfire (and similar LG planes), without unwanted command.

This keys can solve Hurricane "undecarriage" by a using a keymapper that press + (down) twice and - (up) twice and so by-pass the Neutral of the game and will match the Saitek Switch panel LG up/down. Joystick Gremlin do this, XPadder, JoyToKey... too.

    - In CloD leave the LG switch outside of Neutral position don't has penalty, like in certain DCS planes, e.g. MiG-21.

But now came another problem, AFAIK Saitek Switch panel is not a HID controller - is not seem by Windows as joystick, hence need a software for translate their inputs in key press, and so you can't map their buttons press with keymapper software. Assuming that your Saitek Switch Panel was not modified for HID, if was, try joystick Gremlin, JoyTokey.

The only software that I know able to translate key press in key press in AutoHotkey, but is a bit taxing in system resources (CPU cycles, memory...)

Kendy of State proposed solution is good for DIY controls, but not applicable for you Saitek Switch Panel, if remain original.

This set in JoyTokey work well.

Lower Hurricane landing gear with just one button press - in Saitek Switch panel, LG lever down; but again, only if he was converted to HID.

    Thanks for the detailed reply.

This is what I'm testing for flaps and gear in the Hurricane.
