    Ju 88 undercarriage

    Hi there

first I've thought it was a feature but now I think its a bug: On two of five take offs with a Ju 88 A5/trop-late the undercarriage can't be fully retracted. Sometimes the landing gear disappears in the housing but the doors are still open. If you extend the undercarriage it will not lock into its position and will break away on landing instantly.

    Any ideas?

This means you are going too fast for the gear to properly retract.
Happened to me a few times. Now I systematically keep speed at around 200 km/h until gear is fully retracted.
If it gets stuck, reduce speed to 200 km/h (open some flaps to avoid stall), extend gear fully and restart until fully retracted.
Don't forget to retract flaps when done.
Also, the torque of the spinning wheels act against the retract movement. Not sure to what extend this is modeled in the sim, but as in real life flying, I also systematically hit the brakes before retracting my gears...

Ok then, its a new feature not a bug I like those little details in a flight sim.
To tip on the brakes before retracting is a great hint!

    thx and cu!

It's been like this for a long time already

Also happens on the Bf110 for example. If you build up too much speed after takeoff the gear will retract much slower or even get stuck in a partially deployed position.

What? This has not even happened to me in the past four years! Strange. Anyway, nice little "feature".
