Re: New Patch on Steam V.005 with changelog list

Here is a full description of the changes to the BF110 Fuel system:

HOW TO USE THE BF110 FUEL SYSTEM
The Aircraft is refueled to full. Tank filling order is Feed tanks (1&2) then transfer tanks (3&4) being the last to fill. The rear Transfer lever is in the centre or OFF position. The pilot gets airborne and Fuel feed to each engine is from the forward Feed tanks. When either of these tanks gets to 100L the respective upper Left or upper Right 100L illuminates telling the pilot that its time start transferring fuel from the Transfer tanks. The pilot uses the Forward lever to select the feed tank he wants to fill first. He then selects the Transfer tank he wants to transfer from (selecting the same side makes sense as that will keep lateral trim the same). Transfer commences at 40L minute as soon as he places the selector lever on the the transfer tank*. By using the fuel qty switches he can see the Feed tank QTY increasing and the Transfer tank qty decreasing. Now common sense says he should after a short time reverse the selections to Transfer fuel to the other feed tank. I would suggest doing this at 120L intervals so say 3 Mins then swap the levers over then repeat until the Feed tank transfer tanks are empty. He then places the Rear lever to the centre OFF position. So from a pilots graphic perspective if he is Transferring the left side the configuration of the levers is > If transferring the right side the configuration of the levers is < The levers pointing From and two the active tanks involved in the transfer. This together with correct illumination of the 100L lights provides an intuitive and graphical representation of exactly what the fuel system is doing.

    * In reality he also placed the switch behind the selector panel to the outboard position this is actually a directional switch that controls Transfer pump direction#. Since this switch is not animated we are assuming it just stays in the outboard position.

For Short range missions its only required to fill the feed tanks. Anything up to 59% fuel just fills the feed tanks. As soon as you go over 59% you fill the feed tanks and start progressively fueling the transfer tanks. Note Any time a transfer tank has <100L in it, its associated 100L light will be illuminated. so if you have 59% fuel the bottom 2 100l lights will be on for the entire flight.

#Note : there are some other selections that can be used IRL (Both levers and switch) to cater for damage control and external tank setups (wings and fuselage) but these are beyond the scope of current BF110's in game and current coding. This graphic has non coded selections removed.

BTW: I'm a bit dull but how exactly do I do this: To update the files changed by this update, please delete the folder "<MyDocuments>1C SoftClubil-2 sturmovik cliffs of dovermissionsTemplatesTobrukairfields

Might this be done by deleting the usual items in the cache folder before I start the Sim up again after the semi automatic Steam update?

    Hi Blitzen,

the path to the folder which should be deleted is written a wrong way. It should be <MyDocuments>\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions\Templates\Tobruk\airfields.

I simply deleted that airfields folder located in my Documents folder in 1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions\Templates\Tobruk.

I assume this step is not needed after each update, just this time because this update contains changes of the airfield templates.

As for the cache folder, it is recommended to delete it after each update.

I hope it's more understandable now.

    Josef

The new texture on the desert's surface is a good idea. I get a much better feeling for height and speed now, especially in the landing process.
