    Ships and AAA

    Hi to all,
I know that is possible to reduce ship's AAA ability, but is there a way to remove them?
Or is there some kind of big ship with no AAA?

    Many Thanks.

The neutral Merchant ships have an option for no AAA guns.

You can also set the the AAA experience level of the gunners on the combat ships to 'Rookie'.

The fact is, it was not easy or simple to attack ships in WW2.

In the cases when ships were sunk by aircraft, they were usually overwhelmed by large numbers.

Attacking a ship by yourself is not a good idea in most circumstances.

There are ways to reduce the chances of being hit. They are as follows:

    - Speed of approach

    - Curving angle of attack... don't fly a straight line towards the ship.... combine curving approach while losing altitude at the same time. Dive bombing attacks do work if you pull out at a decent altitude.

    - Drop bombs or torpedoes at long range or from high altitude... reduces the chance of a hit, but keeps you safer. Most torpedo attacks were executed at between 1500-1000 meters.

Avoid attacking Battleships, Cruisers or even Destroyers unless you are part of a larger force with attacks from multiple directions... be part of a second or third wave, not the first if you want to improve survival chances.

    Re: Ships and AAA

You try the "Sleep" in Actor tab?

This set a delay for AAA start fire.

For example, for a ~Minenshuchboote I set 98:59 (hour, min or min, seconds???) - biggest number I manage do add in FMB, what result in 5939??? in .mis code.

    Code:
    [Chiefs]
      0_Chief Ship.Minensuchboote de /sleep 5939/skill 0/slowfire 1
In Single Mission this ship AAA are passive.
