    HDMI vs DisplayPort

    Ciao ragazzi!

    Re: HDMI vs DisplayPort

For playing on a PC you will definitely want to use a display port if you are able to. Many consoles still use HDMI, but it's data transfer is slower and the quality is worse. You can run a PC on HDMI, but the quality won't be quite as good. HDMI struggles with data transfer rates, which will really be noticeable if you run high resolutions (2K, 4K) and high frame rates. The higher your frame rate, the more data the cable has to push and HDMI just can't keep up. If you are playing at 1080p 60 frames per second on your computer HDMI is fine, but if you have a higher frame rate you will have issues. Display Port can run 4K with high frame rates no problem.

Ideally you would have a television or monitor with both Display Port and HDMI and you could just plug your computer into DP and the consoles into HDMI, then you could just switch inputs on the television or monitor. This also really depends on the maximum frame rate that your television can support. Most gaming monitors support 144+ frames per second, while many televisions only support 60 frames per second. If you are playing with your computer on a television that only does 60 frames per second then HDMI would likely be fine.

    EDIT WITH GOOGLE TRANSLATE:
