Fictional campaign with No. 219 Squadron Bristol Beaufighter based in Ramsgate, without much historic compromise, but with gameplay.

Campaign by Piper Kiev (2020), translation from Russian (Google Translator) and adaptation* by Sokol1 = 1lokoS, tested in BLITZ 5.010.

For install see the instructions in the text file included in the ZIP file.

    * "Adaptation" = simplifications or add in briefings.

Downloaded and installed perfectly per your included instructions.

Had a chance to fly the first mission (target range). Launched perfectly in ver 5.011.

Briefings easy to understand, thorough, and gave me a chuckle.

Map is beautifully populated - really adds to the immersion and feeling of “being there”.

Target range clearly identifiable - fun to shoot ‘em up.

Surprised to encounter Me110 raiders on the way home, shot one down.

Lots of action all around me as escorting Hurries engaged 110’s nearby.

Landed safely at Ramsgate - rewarded with successful mission completed notification.

Looking forward to continuing this Beaufighter campaign.

This campaign should definitely be added to the campaign roster.

Repack "V-2", removing an Bren Carrier that insist in invade runway just when planes are taking off and reposition an NDB antena that are causing AI crash on landing.

Include the "Vetochka" script for track player, squadron and RAF kills and Luftwaffe losses.

    - Dead pilots can't fill kill claims.

I play until mission 5 and don't notice other issues, besides CloD usual's. The next mission is at 20:00, let's see.

Beaufighter is easy to fly, but a bit difficult for fight.

And beware of rear gunners, they are more effective than AI pilots.

OK, will download and install V2 and start over.

I flew the 2nd mission (intercepting the incoming Dorniers) and did quite well. I sustained light damage and decided to head for home. Then some pesky 110’s showed up - those rear gunners are deadly. I was badly hit but managed to stay aloft, albeit with some control problems. Made it to within sight of Ramsgate when a 110 came out of nowhere and put me into the drink! LOL

BTW - were those COWS I saw moving around just off the runway?

If want you don't need start again, in

    ..:\User\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign

    open the file

    custom.campaign_Bristol_Beaufighter.state.ini

and set the number of mission you already play, so can continue, e.g.

    Code:
    [Main]
      battleIndex 2
BTW - were those COWS I saw moving around just off the runway?
It appears that some farmer next to the airstrip confused the flight schedule.

Re: 1lokos has just uploaded Bristol Beaufighter campaign in Channel map.!

Mission #5 as set by Piper Kiev is "mission impossible", mission target - bombers fly too low and you are engaged by some BF 110 "Nightfighter" with some Spitfires in pursuit.

Since AI have "night vision" I remove the Bf 110 and Spits, and set bombers path more high.

Mission start at 20:16 in twilight, but soon is very dark.
Added in briefing the waypoints to follow.

Tip for return to base: look at the Moon.

Tip for landing: Use TAB 2 for get in home base surroundings - always synchronize DG; and whatch the altimeter for avoid CFIT.

When see runway beacon blinking Morse Code EGRA (Ramsgate) - visible at good distance, climb down to ~2,000 feet's and use the beacon light as reference for see the runway lights - they apear only very near, then fly parallel to runway, slight for right, mile or two, looking at Directional Gyro make a 180 degrees turn, drop gear and flaps and following the beacon go for landing.

Fly at night with ambient lights turned off help, and keep gunsight light on help in reduce the "blindness" inside cockpit.

But,"the question of the century", being Beaufighter a plane released in CloD BLITZ, and their main role in Blitz was as nightfighter, with TFS don't make the "Beam approach visual indicator" instrument - upper left of cockpit; functional, since this is funcional in other planes?

    Mission #5 replacement.

Tried to install it, following the instructions as closely as I could understand them, but it did not work for me.

Most of the time, the cause of the campaign is not displayed in the game menu is errors in names in "Campaign.ini" and campaign folder, they need by equals.

    Campaign-install.jpg

Alternatively, for avoid typing, copy this line and past in the actual "Campaign.ini" in Custom folder, bellow last entry in section [Main] (at top of file)

    Code:
    campaign_Bristol_Beaufighter
And these lines for the end of the "Campaign.ini" file:

    Code:
    [campaign_Bristol_Beaufighter]
    folder campaign_Bristol_Beaufighter
    title Beaufighter
    image Poster.bmp

Re: 1lokos has just uploaded Bristol Beaufighter campaign in Channel map.!

You can simplify the sharing of the campaign. Each custom campaign can have it's own campaign.ini file. Nobody needs to edit any files to install a custom campaign!!!

    Look at screenshot:

    custom-campaign.ini's.jpg

Game will read ALL campaign.ini's placed there.

So simple campaign distribution is only three things: the campaign-folder, the campaign-ini, and a READ ME that only need say, put folder and ini into .../custom. And done.

    Bonditaria

    I don't know about this possibility, don't RTFM.gif ...cause, I don't find one.

Did a test and work perfectly.

In that way will cut 80+% of (BPKC) errors.

    Thank you.
