Only the chosen few can see it. The squad members thus far are:

    ATAG_Ezzie
    ATAG_JackMaxx
    ATAG_Knight
    ATAG_Laser
    ATAG_Marlow
    ATAG_Noofy
    ATAG_Oskar
    ATAG_Pattle
    ATAG_Snapper
    ATAG_Vampire
    ATAG_yotheguy
    Baxter
    bubbadeluxe
    dazza
    FLAK BOSS
    Meaks
    RAF74_Buzzsaw
    Slot

Let me know if I've missed anyone. I simply went through the threads and PM's adding in names as I saw 'em. New names are easily added. This subforum is in its infancy; I can easily add thread categories to it per your suggestions ie Upcoming missions, Suggested tactics, Navigation tips, After Action Reports, etc. In the meantime, drop in (you can't miss it - it's bright red!) and say hello to your new squad mates!

Poor ole Knuckles has been left out I can access the forum. so I'm not mad !!!!

    Welcome aboard mate.

We have flown a Wimpy sortie together in the desert last year. I bombed an airfield and you followed in after me. We met up at base having passed close by each other on the return going in the opposite directions.
Hope to see you in the mess soon. I'll stand you a pint.

    Flak.

Vickers Wellington Mk1c. OJ-F P2517 'F for Freddie' of No.149 Squadron, star of 'Target for Tonight' directed by Harry Watt released in July 1941.

their Spitfire escort returned safely. One Wellington crashed on landing at Ford.

for those under 50years old (and possibly non British), gold top was the colour of the bottle cap, its (was) full cream milk, ie 30% cream - as opposed to silver top which was standard, and the reason why birds pecked holes in the cap to get to it back in the day. Glass bottles it used to come in - and be delivered to your doorstep (before you got up).
It was also far preferable to the present watered standard(especially on corn flakes perhaps not so much in tea) - and dont even attempt to push uht to me.

Being much more civilized in Yorkshire we still get our milk delivered by a proper milkman. Three pints of red top (semi skinned) fresh every day. You can't beat it.
It ain't half grim up hear in the north.

    Ah the good old days.
On really cold mornings the milk had pushed out the top too and frozen solid.
We used to squabble over first dibs on our porridge.

Had to fill the coal scuttle and light the fire to get hot water.
Ice on inside of the windows.

Apologies to Monty Python sketch as mostly harmless.....

I don't drink a lot of milk thou, takes too long to get pissed, I prefer beer.

First winter, we had a lotta snow - a strong wind, inch of snow on fields surrounding us, but wind blew it covered the roads between hedgerows 3foot deep. 3 days like that but because the house beside us was 1.5 stories high and down wind, our coal fire heating smoke swept back into cottage and we had to put it out before we suffocated. We had ice on the ice. EeeH by 'eck.

Did you watch "The Adventures of Black Beauty" series 1 in 1972 on London Weekend Television? Here's the theme music!

I was ten or eleven when I found an intense desire to watch a horse program every Sunday... Exquisite stories of English country life, starring the most beautiful equestrian girl in the whole world: Judi Bowker.

You can watch episodes on YouTube.

At age 19 I married a lady who, just like Judi, was trained in ballet, and a skilled horsewoman, and cover-model for fashion magazine Vogue in her teens... All her youth she'd heard that she looked identical to the 'Black Beauty' girl on the TV! I have some problem with this next picture because it looks exactly like a photo of my first wife while it isn't!

I heartily recommend watching the stories, kids will love it, truly a blessed era that will never return.

Uncanny beauty. We were married six amazing years.

She was the first of four... my second wife looked more like the lady in this cockpit-companion picture below...

    Regrets? I've had a few...

    Re: Wimpey Squad's New Home!

    What a great story, Bondi!

Yes, I remember watching Black Beauty and falling in love with Judi Bowker (who didn't?) and...... I also married a stunning blonde in 1979, who I am still lucky enough to be married to today. She's not a Judi Bowker...more an Agnetha from Abba! And she has the personality (and patience....just as well!) of an

angel! Her name is Jennifer and that's the reason I have a 'J' in the registration of my aircraft.

The idea is: if Jen knows I have her 'immortalised' on the side of my aircraft, she'll be so thrilled she'll let me fly far more often than I should! It's working so far!

She has given me two clever, wondeful sons, who have never given either of us a moments grief and who were both very successful in the entertainment and music business. Well, they were before covid struck.....but I am hopeful they will get back on their feet once life returns to normal.

I have tried to get a picture of Jen in my cockpit but have failed miserably so far. Any tips, hints...guidance gratefully accepted! Salute!
