Greetings all!
Just sending a quick hello to everyone here. A bit about myself: I've been flightsimming since 1983 when I started with subLOGIC's Flight Simulator by Bruce Artwick for Apple //e. I still have the 5-1/4" floppy disc, manual, & colour-matched ziplock bag from Computerland. The most advanced flight simulator that I 'flew' was a USAF F-4E Phantom simulator at our local airbase. It used a mainframe which filled an entire room and had 2 air conditioners just to keep the hardware from overheating. Super duper fun, that!
Twenty-five years ago, I had the pleasure of befriending a retired RCAF/RAF pilot who flew photo-recon Spitfires during WWII. The stories he told were more fascinating than anything produced by Hollywood at the time. We would often sit in his den and watch an old, grainy VHS copy of BBC's "Piece of Cake". Every time I fly a Spitfire in a flightsim, it's difficult not to think of him. He was a great man and a good friend.
I promised a quick hello, so I'll stop here.
With Kindest Regards,
Buzz73
