    This is incredible. Thanks Larry.

It would be great if all those choosing to be part of the Welly group had their own aircraft skin assigned to them. Maybe people nominate a letter.

I'd like P for Pattle (Pete is also my real name). But happy for another if someone else wants it.

Congrats to those that have brought so much interest in our Welly. Thanksyou.

Gents. These skins are superb and it would be fantastic if they adorned our Wimpys. I like the look of 'F - Freddie' if we have a choice please.

    FB.

Vickers Wellington Mk1c. OJ-F P2517 'F for Freddie' of No.149 Squadron, star of 'Target for Tonight' directed by Harry Watt released in July 1941.

Freddy prepares for an air test prior to departure from Ford on ops with No.149 Squadron for a daring daylight attack on Marshalling Yards in Caen France 31\1|21. ATAG Operation Milk Run. Target destroyed. Six Wellingtons, One Blenheim together with
their Spitfire escort returned safely. One Wellington crashed on landing at Ford.

    Nice skins.

I cant commit to training etc but would be keen to fly with the group if coordinated missions are flown online. Happy to be at the rear of the formation and follow the leader in Z for 'last'.

    Stupid question:
Will these skins be visible on ATAG server?

Otherwise FG28 is already using WS (nö 9 Bomber squad.) for 'Wolkenstürmer' wich might stand for 'Wimpy Squad' as well

My sign (see below) has always been WS-U

This is not a stupid question mate, and we need the experts to let us know if it is possible......but the skins are so damn good,it would be a travesty not to try.

Superb skins Larry.....you really are the master my friend, thank you so very much for answering my SOS to you and uploading them, magic

    My two cents:

I would like to keep the whole thing a bit more informal.
Becoming a member of a squad with call-sign and all is a kind of commitment. while I'm happy to hop in and join the group from time to time, I'm not sure whether I have the time to regularly participate in meetings and events.
Our squad rules (FG28) actually state that members should not fly in different squads using the same name.
We are not too serious about rules (or anything else) but still I see a conflict there.

Good point. We've left this "Wimpey Squad" wide open for anyone to join. It's pretty loose which a lot of folks prefer, particularly if we're already members of an established squad. Having said that, anyone can create their own organized squad at any time. I think our growing numbers here would have no problem attracting new players that are looking for this very thing. Here's an example (and I'm just thinking out loud here). Meaks has described the 149 Squadron in great detail, which I found great reading. There's no reason he can't create a "149 Squad" dedicated to flying Wellington missions - I'd be delighted to create another subforum right here to support it. They could plan their own missions and opt to keep it just a 149 Squad event, or draw from the Wimpey Squad player pool to add to the formation numbers.

Again, just thinking out loud and I'd love to hear what others think - especially Meaks since I was so presumptive to use him and the 149 Squadron as an excellent example.

    What say ye?

Thanks Snapper,I agree,I like it as we have it,I'm personally not into name tags or any other 'badge' wearing,lol....and I only started the enthusiasm re 149 as I knew Larry69 had created all those wonderful 149 skins for it,and I am very interested in 149 Squadron.

However with regards getting into naming our new group or starting up a dedicated named Wellington Squadron,no,I'm just happy the way things are.....it's great, why change what we have ?,a loose, informal group suits me,let's keep it that way....my two pennies worth for what it counts

BTW Gentlemen looking forward to tonight 8pm GMT kick off,see you all there

AFAIK custom skins are disabled on the ATAG Axis vs Allies Server (for Blitz) and the TFS#3 Server (Tobruk). This was because of the stuttering that occurred whenever a new player spawned in with a custom skin. From my understanding, a work around that might work at the server level is to incorporate Larry’s fantastic skin pack into the default skins. Thus, the skins are already cached (if that’s the right word)/preloaded just like all the other skins already are. This would mean that Larry’s 149 Squadon skins are available to anyone logging in, but that shouldn’t be a problem.

    Let me look into this!

Lovely skins. As one who enjoys flying several different RAF types I've been using the stock 151 Sqd codes on all a/c that gives me DZA. I don't take pictures or record flights so it's hardly a vanity plate, but at least it's consistent in all servers and theaters. In those brief periods taxiing or flying close others can see who I am, if they actually bother looking.

    Hi all
Like Meaks and Snapper happy to keep markings informal and "loose as a goose"

I have been using the local Brize Norton Squadron #30 as it gives me RS-T so combi of initials and closest to Slot.
Either that or HA-A or OK-? to reflect my skills...

Hope to be given a good behaviour pass to join tonight's mission!

I agree strongly with Derda, Snapper, Meaks and everybody else who doesn't want hard and fast rules.

Life is incredibly busy for everyone and I'd love to keep the possibility that a pilot who finds himself with spare time can join us for a sortie or two...but that nobody feels any awkwardness if real life then says they must take a break! Most of us have rules from our own group or Squadron and we don't need clashes.

Also, I would hate to feel that pilots can't join us or are discouraged from joining because of a rule. Keep everything simple, totally inclusive and informal and few of us will get upset!

(Though I will get upset if ATAG_Knight keeps nicking Big Hilda's doughnuts!!!) Salute!

Hey Larry69, the link is not working. Any chance you could update it for these fine skins to be downloaded once more ?
