    Thanks Slot.

I have a few more which I will post at some point.

The screenshots were taken when I managed to get the searchlights working recently in a single player map I was building.

It would be nice if multiplayer night ops were 'do-able' in the sim at some point.

    Wow
Night ops would be really next level scary!
I have tried a few of the single player Beau and Hurri and found them hard and impossible to land afterwards.

That searchlight pic was almost like a photo.
You would deserve a medal if you get searchlights working.

    Re: Wimpy Wonder

It is possible to fly in the dark and the runway lights do work well enough to take off and see.

However, for landing a searchlight/s is required as a beacon to get you close enough to see the runway lights.

Good fun but a bit 'hairy' on landing.

Believe it or not there were two N for Nuts,N-OJ 149 Squadron Wellingtons at Mildenhall, this was the first one P9273,unfortunately it was lost on a raid in October 1940 with the loss of the entire crew.

Here the aircraft has been brought back to life with the superb skills of Larry69....thanks Peter

Another early war Camouflage scheme for a Wellington Mk1a of 9 Squadron' based at RAF Honnington Suffolk, early in 1940.

There are photos of this aircraft, N3000, showing it flying with its rarely used ventral turret extended (not modelled in CloD)

    Ops are on Tonight.

Great stuff Vamps. I would have loved to have been on one of these wartime bomber airfields and watching all the intense activity around the dispersals preparing for the night's work.

You are getting red hot on these lovely Wimpey screenshots, Vamps! Very evocative! Keep 'em coming!

I also really enjoyed those earlier shots of Wimpeys at night being caught by the searchlights. Was that on a server or single player? I would love to try to fly a real night mission with the Wimpey but I think all the servers stop as soon as it gets dark? Am I right?

Hope to catch you later on today. Salute!

    Thanks Marlow for your comments.

Yes I try to capture the feeling the wartime photos give when taking the screenshot. I have a long way to go before I can do that as well as the 'Master' (Larry) does.

The night shots of the 'Wimpeys' with the searchlights is something I set up when making the Wellington video I recently re-posted. I did it in the FMB. At the time I made the video the searchlights weren't working. Since then I have managed to learn what to do to get them working. The screenshots are a couple I made at that time.

Night missions are not covered by any of the present server maps as far as I know. I don't think night is something the sim copes with at the moment. Best time to try and replicate a night mission is dusk or dawn from my experience.

The British planes in the game are not equipped with radionav nor night landing aid, so unless you can see the ground, your bombing mission would look something like the first discipline in this video:

    Gigabyte Z390 UD | i7 9700K @3.60GHz | 16.0 GB | Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pro rudder pedals | TrackIR 5 | TeamSpeak 3.3.2 | TS Notifier 1.6.0h
