Flying on TWC lately I have had the occasional stutter or micro freeze but I've so far blamed that on custom skins and AI (de)spawning.

TWC has 500kb skin file size limit to help with some of the issues mentioned in this thread......it works on the "Honour System" and granted you may be hearing this for the first time but it's just a matter of resizing your skin and if you want include a TWC in the file name for convenience.
There's something good waitin' down this road

Some AI did get their roll rate decreased. But Bf-109F still demostrate those crazy evasion maneuvers.
Hi, 1lokos & everybody
KB4598242 is not installed on my rig.
KB3598242.JPG
When the issues after updating to 5.015 started, Nvidea 456.71 driver had been installed. To solve the problem I updated to 461.09 then. Result: nothing, but stuttering . 461.09 is apparently not the problem. I also tried this https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.c...ad.php?t=34338 post #4 : but in vain. Curious, I wanted to go back to "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover [Teamfusion update] to exclude trouble coming from drivers or Win updates. It was still available before I bought DW, but now apparently I have it to reinstall it.

Not sure what will do that, I canceled. However, I tend to say that this issue is not coming from KB3598242 or Nvidea 461.09. At least on my rig. And it happens online and offline in Quickmissions & Single Missions. Cleaning Cache doesn't help. Is there a way to go back to the former version? It is a gamebraker.
Nevertheless, TF rules !

Had nothing to do with Windows (or any other's) updates ...
Hotfix is on Steam. Will automatically update.

Thank you very much for fixing it so quickly
Completely unexcpected sideeffect of something else.
That answer is pretty elusive. So was it caused by the 'ai' changes? Was the 'ai' improvement rolled back as a hotfix? I was not affected by the original patch stuttering problem and quite like the 'ai' performance after patch, so I think I will hold back on installing the 'hotfix' for now.Artist

Completely unexcpected sideeffect of something else.
Does it really matter why? The important thing is that is corrected now.
Awesome!

Thank you Artist, that is the information I needed. I'm glad you understood my post.
And many thanks for the 'ai' improvement.

Thanks for the quick fix!
SP missions are running well on my end again.
Yep. That was after the information explaining it was nothing to do with the windows update or nvidia.... which then leads to. "well what was it then?"
Maybe in future rather than tease info. just say, "we found a fix for the stutters that were introduced and a Hotfix has been released", at the moment though we have a situation where stutters were introduced, people commented saying they had issues, TFS reply they are aware of the issue and investigating the cause which could be a windows update or nvidia update and then rather than say what the issue was, just upload a Hotfix.
Can't blame people for being inquisitive.... at least people are still here being interested but guess we'll never know.

Ok so, what you are saying is that you will understand if TFS tells you something like:
"There was an extra semicolon on line 1234 causing the code to skip a loop which meant a pointer was being used after being freed causing an exception"
TFS is certainly busy and better off not having to explain the detail of every change they make.
I apologise for showing an interest
