    Greetings !!

Just wanted to post a line or two, I have been browsing your forums and am very impressed with what I have read!
Apologies for being so late to the party! I am a old guy that has been playing flight sims since the 80s still have most titles (lol) .
recently bought CLOD and Tobruk on steam, mainly because I am a bit of of a WW2 nut. still play BoS and IL-2 1946 (Bat) Falcon BMS and DCS
Have not had the nerve for multiplayer yet ,although after reading all the encouragement in here.. may have to try it.
I look forward to seeing You guys in the skies soon..( once I get a handle on engine management in my 109 )
    All the Best! <S>

    Hey there NiteShadow,
Welcome to the fun. There's quite a few of us old guys knocking around here, so you're in good company! The sim is great, but the community here makes it even better. I only got the nerve up to try the online part a few months ago and it has really brought the sim to life. It's a great way for a WW2 aviation enthusiast to spend a bit of time. I thoroughly recommend that you get online and on Teamspeak ASAP and have a crack at things - even if you haven't quite got that 109 engine management business quite under control. There'll be people who are happy to help you master it. Enjoy!
    All the best,
    Bubba

    Welcome aboard Nite.
Hey it took me five years to pluck up courage to get on Teamspeak. Now I wonder why I waited so long. Don't miss out on the comradeship and
you will learn how to master all these wonderful aircraft.

    Cheers.

    Hi NiteShadow

Welcome to our wonderful sim . Great to see that you're something of a sim nut from the other titles you've been using . Believe me once you get your self online you'll wonder why you didn't do it earlier .

We have a great community going on here so if you need any assistance on any aspect there'll be someone around to help you out . You've been reading the forums but sometimes it's just easier to ask someone , something we've all done when flying multiplayer .

Age is no problem either , there's some right old gits on here , myself included . I even had a special compartment put in the Spitty for my false teeth , right next to the wine rack .

Hope to see you joining in the fun very soon .

    Good Luck

Ha ha! Then you have certainly come to the right place!!!! There are more WWII Nuts here than....Duxford and Hendon combined!

Welcome, NiteShadow...great to have you here! You are truly amongst like minded souls because we are all into WWII aviation in it's many forms. I grew up living on RAF Stations and was used to the sight of Spitfires and Hurricanes, so finding Cliff of Dover five years ago was, in many ways, like coming home! I, too, spent a whole year on single player never daring to join multiplayer because I thought I was trespassing on somebody elses party.

Let me reassure you that is NOT the case...and after plucking up courage to try the Axis and Allies server I quickly got to realise that everybody there was very friendly...supportive and helpful! And I'm still here!

We welcome new pilots such as yourself very keenly. Do come and join us....you are assured of a very warm welcome!

I am at the moment having a lot of fun with MalcomG, a new pilot who has just ventured on line for the first time. (His 'post' is in the Welcome Thread below) He is a little older than me but is doing famously learning the Hurricane.....and anyway, we're all old enough to know better, here! Ha ha!

If you would like to join us on line and learn together that would be great.

I mostly fly Red (RAF fighters) but I can help you get the beautiful and deadly 109 into the air. Just let me know if you would like to have 'a taster' by posting on this forum and we can fix a time. I am retired so can be available most days.

In the meantime, good luck with your training and hope to fly with you soon. Salute!
