then there is Il2 Battle of Normandy next which is at the end of war

The flight sim community would be considered small to the overall gaming industry which sells million of games. As far as actual numbers I have no idea......but there is one number that comes to mind.......Sorry, couldn't resist just one more mention of the number to rule all numbers

-IL2 Strumovik series with an up coming Normandy add in. They also have Flying Circus which covers WWI
-DCS is mainly jets but they too a WW2 component
-War Thunder is more of an arcade style
-Microsoft's newest is a civil plane set, but they have in the past offered WW2 stuff

There are a few more smaller ones out there.....others in here may add them to the list.

My game of choice is "Cliffs of Dover" managed by Team Fusion Simulations

Sorry, not wanting to play the wise-ass, but I was amazed to learn from comments in videochannels how little this is known, so allow me to correct the first three in the list.

- IL2 Sturmovik 1946 (original game by Oleg Maddox 2001. No longer officially developped but still excellent in many respects)
- IL2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover - Blitz and IL2 Sturmovik: Desert Wings - Tobruk (new game engine developped by Oleg Maddox until 2011, now further developped by TFS)
- IL2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series (Battle of ...) (develloped on the basis of the 'Rise of Flight' (2009) engine in 2013, still expanded by 777)

These three games together belong to the IL2 Sturmovik franchise owned by 1C, but are not compatible with each other.
