    Tomahawk Throttle Quadrant

Mechanical stuff is all done. I still want to do a controller board for this quadrant, but until it is done I will probably just use an external controller. Time for some flight testing!

Your controllers are pretty sweet Kendy. 3D printed I assume? What do you use for CAD?

It looks like a 3d render, but one of those renders that looks more real than the real thing.

Yes, Mostly 3D printed. Some stuff is cut on a CNC router. Mos of the time I use Designspark Mechanical for 3D design. It is a very simple program that allows me to create stuff pretty quickly. When I need to do any CNC work I use Fusion 360. Sometimes I'll design it in Designspark, then export it as a .Step file and import it into Fusion 360.

    Re: Tomahawk Throttle Quadrant

Did a little flight testing tonight. Whenever I switch controls it takes a little getting used to...I keep trying to manipulate the levers on the wrong quadrant, and it makes things a little dodgy in a fight!
Works pretty nicely, though I am used to putting the pitch right next to the throttle, so I keep moving the mixture instead of the pitch. Pitch control is a little stiff, even when I loosen the friction knob, so I think my tolerances on the pitch drive reduction gear are too tight. I need to make a little more clearance in one area. I'll print a new gear tomorrow and see how it works. Otherwise, I like it! It's cool to see the in-game controls move in perfect sync with the real-world controls.
