It is more out of interest to see what kind pf PCs other players are running. You can ask them what sort of performance they get with that PC if u are wanting comparisons.
It is also useful when u are having computer problems when u ask questions as the experts can see what PC u are talking about.

I'm partly responsible. As amateur and sometimes professional tech-geeks, we frequently offer advice to players when they submit posts about CLoD and related systems. I found that a technical response almost always requires some background information, so I suggested listing system specs in the signature block. It just saves time asking the obvious questions.
It also helps me find answers when I have a question about my own setup when there's someone already using identical hardware. It's like having "Corporate memory", available.
Personal background info like age and hometown in your forum user profile is also very helpful to responders when tailoring an answer to a question. People of similar backgrounds tend to support each other.
...It's not like we're asking for your credit card numbers...
