    BF109 E-7/N Immediately explodes when toggling Emergency Undercarriage.

    Twice on the TWC BOB Campaign server I've hit the Emergency Undercarriage handle while on approach, under 200 KPH, and both time the aircraft immediately exploded. Bug? Or am I doing something wrong. I've used it in other 109 variants aany times and it has always worked.

    One of the most hilarious bugs in the game, until it violently ends your career on the campaign server.

    Hi Guys ive just tried this out myself on the 109 F 4s the F2s and E 4s once i activate the emergency undercarriage the plane just explodes I have not noticed this before the last update. Also on the 109 F4 no smoke trail when firing the canons
    This only happens while playing single player and the campaigns not on multiplayer.

    Hi Guys I just tried this out myself on single player and multiplayer with the 109 F4s F2s and the E4s once i activate the emergency undercarriage the plane just explodes on all maps channel map and tobruk map i have not noticed this prior to the last update
    Also when firing the canons on the 109 F4 no smoke trail this happens when playing both single player and campaigns Not on Multiplayer.

    It happends when you set the undercarrige to "gear down" position and you toggle the emergency undercarrige release. No matter which one do you first.

    Hello Fellas

    I am sorry, but I tested this many times in an E-7N and could not replicate the exploding aircraft.

    Not when starting on the ground and then activating the emergency release, or after takeoff, activating it when undercarriage still deployed, and not after raising the undercarriage, then deploying it again and hitting the emerg release.

    Can people be specific when this occurs? I did my testing in Singleplayer... did this issue only occur in Multiplayer?

    What altitude and speed... I see from the video posted it was approx. 150 kmh in that example... I did try at those speeds.

    Just tested in SP mode (Quick Mission Free Flight France) in both the E7 and the E7/N.

    In patch 019 the plane used to blow up as soon as we engage emergency gear release.
    In patch 020 this does not happen anymore

    This being said, the gear does not come out with emergency release activated unless you toggle gear out for at least one second. I guess this is to unlock the gear from the up position? But should this not also work when the gear lever is in neutral position?

    Once toggled, the emergency gear command cannot be undone, and the gear can no longer be retracted. Is this normal?

    I was about to disable all Emergency Undercarriage Jettison for all Bf-109 until we found the source of the bug... but I am assuming others will get the same result as you and I.

    If someone sees this bug occur again, please post and be specific with the details of why/when/where/speed/etc.

    Someone was already faster than you.
    Emergency Undercarriage Jettison for all Bf 109s are already disabled.
    Throughout an extensive testing I saw that Emergency Undercarriage Jettison is not lowering the gear with an disabled engine.
    Aslong as the engine is spinning (also slowly), the undercarriage can be locked in lower position, but the Emergency Undercarriage Jettison has nothing to do with it.

    The undercarriage can also be be lowered by unlocking it first with the lower undercarriage control, then going neutral to make gravity do the work.
    If the second wheel won't come down redo the unlock, then go neutral again.
    Wheels do not fully lock-in or fully lower, but the gear can be prevented to snap slowly back in by having the undercarriage control in lower position before landing.
    Doing it that way takes alot of patience and altitude (about 2km).
    It is however, as long as the engine is spinning, easier to lower the undercarriage normally.
    One has to keep the engine spinning as fast as possible and keep the speed at ~220 km/h or less to lower the undercarriage as fast as possible.

    I just experienced this in the Beaufighter Ic on the TWC server. I had tried the lower gear and I could hear the pumps going but the gear still wasn't down. I had damage, port engine dead, so I tried the emergency control and immediately blew up.

    This was repeated six times in my log time with the same time stamp:

    Beaufighter reproducable

    I can reproduce the exploding landing gear problem in the Beaufighter Ic in single player using the "damage your plane" mission script. In my first test I damaged the port engine by damaging the oil system. In my second test I damaged the hydraulic system. In a third test I damage the wing surface.

    (Un)fortunately when I repeated these tests the landing gear came down without exploding. The gear actually appeared down instantly, without gradual lowering animation.

    This is what I did the day I was able to recreate the exploding plane.

    I renamed the script file (.cs) to use with the quick mission "Free flight - England" (002 - free flight - england.cs). I changed my plane to a Beaufighter Ic and used to script (<TAB>, 4...) to damage the plane. I damaged engine 1 oil system in first test and flew until the engine died. I attempted to lower the landing gear but it wouldn't go down so I used my key binding for "Engage Undercarriage Emergency System" and the plane exploded at this point. Second test was same expect I damaged hydraulic system. For the third test I damaged wing surface to test if unrelated damage was a problem and the plane was ok.

    Reliably reproducable in 5.031 but not at all reproducable on 5.032 - waiting for further input
