Can I Pan or Snap the view with TrackIR ON?

I cannot turn my head left and right very much due to a medical issue. I want to combine the use of Left and Right Panning and Snap viewing with my TrackIR5 but I'm unable to figure out how.

    Any help?

I do not think that is possible in Cliffs, maybe you could create several track IR profiles and switch between them with keyboard

Re: Can I Pan or Snap the view with TrackIR ON?

Baffin, I have done this, but not with the best results. I am not doing it now, but not long ago I had a couple buttons set up to SNAP 135 degrees left and right. This was while flying with TrackIR on. I stopped using it for several reasons, one was I was having inconsistent results with it holding that rearward view and snapping back to forward when I wanted. Sometimes it would hold the rearward view I wanted and sometimes it would instantly snap back to forward view. I am not sure what the problem was at the time.

I don't know if Opentrack or Facetracknoir can be used at the same time as Track-ir.But with Opentrack or Facetracknoir you can use as an example the slider on your x52 throttle for yaw movement.

Thanks! I'm working on this approach...

Edit: Game options Work in offline mode using TrackIR cutout key. Unable to make it work in multiplayer mode. I'm still experimenting with Opentrack.
20210615- I give up. It just doesn't work with TrackIR/CLoD.

Re: Can I Pan or Snap the view with TrackIR ON?

You need to play with the TrackIR curves settings. You can achieve any result you want ( in this case a large camera movemet with a very minimal head movement ).
Said very briefly, the vertical axis of the curve controls the speed of the movent, the horizontal one the real degrees that you have to move your head to obtain the movement.
On the horizontal axis the more you'll move the points toward the center, the little will be the movement you'll have to do with your head.
On the vertical axis the more you will move the points to the top, the more the movement will be fast.
For example, with a 1 degree head movement you can achieve a 180 degrees turn of your virtual head.
TrackIR5 has 6DoF and every axis is fully setable so, as said, you can pratically achieve any result you want on any of the 6 axes. ( Yaw, Pitch, Roll, Y, X, Z )
Make a search about TrackIR settings on YouTube there are several very good tutorials that explain in detail how to do it

Re: Can I Pan or Snap the view with TrackIR ON?

Thanks, Molders. I shall work on this method. It should take a little practice to become familiar with sensitive settings like that, but what else do I have to do?

EDIT: I have set it up for sensitive yaw input. With a cervical collar on, I can even control my left/right view with my shoulders instead of my neck. It does take some getting used to.

This is the tutorial that I've watched when I was learning how to set up correctly Track IR5. Ignore the parts about DCS peculiar settings. Here you'll get the ropes about how to set the curves of the various axes. I hope it could help.
