"Peep" Sound of target acquisition systems ...

"Peep" Sound of target acquisition system ... since when are airplanes able to ?

I saw that in DCS Videos. Air planes had a kind of target acquisition system.
They made a certain "peep" sound when the enemy plane when the target was locked on. It that certain sound. Since when are these target acquisition system developed? on which plane are they installded(first)?

I believe you’re referring to OBOE which DCS has activated in their recent Mosquito. I don’t believe that system was developed yet by the mid-1941 period depicted in IL-2 Sturmovik Blitz/Tobruk.

EDIT: first used in December 1941:

yes .... but I asking for the system who helps to lock on with cannons and guns. And makes a noise at the point when the enemy plane is locked on.

was already in the jet era.
