    Windows 11 Report Mandate

Mandates are just all the rage these days, so if you have installed Windows 11 for use with CLoD, I am mandating you set aside your personal liberty and report how the upgrade went.

I personally had to upgrade my BIOS to enable TPM 2.0, but that was a no-brainer (Sort of like the other recent mandaters). I need confirmation from all the risk takers out there that Windows 11 is safe and effective. So far, no booster installation is required.

My name is Baffin, and I approve this message.

I haven't tried it myself yet but if you do here is something to consider. If you just upgrade to Windows 11 you should be fine, but if you do a fresh install it turns on VBS (Virtualization Based Security) which can absolutely tank gaming performance. Here is an article:

    https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/...vbs-windows-11
Spec: Intel i9 11900k overclocked at 5.3 GHz, Asus Maximus XIII motherboard, 64 GB high speed DDR4 RAM, ROG Strix RTX 4090, M.2 HD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS with center stick and extension, Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals, Track IR 5 or HP Reverb G2, CH Throttle Quadrant, LG UltraGear 48GQ900 monitor.

Reading this article will reassure users that while VBS reduces performance in your PC, it can be turned off using Tom's Hardware procedures.

Here is some info on Windows 11. Looks like you don't really need it, for now.

I tested CloD under Win11, didn't notice any performance issue.

    Re: Windows 11 Report Mandate

FYI, it was too nice to be true, the WMR software (VR) in Win11 can not recognize the graphics driver, and can't install WMR at all. So I had to revert back to Win10.
Everything else was good in Win11, except VR.

    S!

Using Windows 11 and no issues with Blitz/Tobruk. Tracker works and average framerates are well above 100fps in 2K resolution. I like the look and feel of Win 11.
    Rig for gaming...

    Re: Windows 11 Report Mandate

I have been out of using my computer for the last eight months. Don’t ask, but I wasn’t in jail) I got everything reset up recently, and found that CLOD is running really bad. I don’t know what the frame rate is, but it’s probably around 20. The graphics are bad, too. I’m seeing white areas on the planes, that move as I change roll or pitch. DCS, for some reason, is running great.

My setup is pretty good, so it’s got to be settings that, for some reason, have changed.

Would it be possible for someone to send me their video and graphics settings, and anything else that might help get this thing working right?

    Thanks,

    Hi TWC_SLAG,

have you tried deleting the contents of the cache folder inside the game folder in your Documents?
There were several game updates during that time you were not running CloD.
It is recommended to delete the cache folder everytime a new update is installed.
Graphical annomalies can be caused by obsolete files in this cache folder.
This is the first thing I would try.

Good idea. Thank you. The cache is one of those things I had forgotten about.

Would the same apply to BOX? It’s very slow in loading.

Isn't the cache folder supposed to refresh itself after I delete it? It didn't, and I'm still looking for what else might be wrong.
