Joystick problems associated with Steam Controller Configuration

    Hi TF,

Has anyone looked into the possibility that many of the controller issues more „modern“ players are having could be associated with how Steam handles controllers? It seems to me that many people tend to apply a controller scheme to their Joystick in Steam, not using windows controllers directly.

    Look at this:

    Specially the video I linked.

I’ll try to do it later and see what happens…

Would be nice to analyze this and make a section in the Getting Started guide if it‘s the case. Or maybe even kill this option altogether if it doesn’t kill some expected functionality.

And his review mentioning the issue:

Now a few screenshots of what happens... now I just need to figure out how to undo this stupid mess...

    Steam does not see buttonbox.JPG
    Steam Define Controller mapping.JPG
    Steam Controller Xbox Steam.JPG
    Steam Controller in CloD.jpg

Edit: this is how you undo this crap
    https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamContro...tm_name=iossmf

    • Disable all Controller Support Options

    • Exit Steam and unplug the controller

    • Open the config.vdf file stored on your computer

    • • By default it is located in \- C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\config\\config.vdf

    • Search for **"SDL\_GamepadBind"** and delete everything underneath it

    • Save the file

    • Start Steam and plug in the controller
