Greetings All! I'm in the process of some upgrades to my old rig to run VR. I'm planning on upgrading my old i5-3570K @ 4.4 GHZ, which has been great, to an i7-3770K I've acquired. Currently on my sim rig PC I use a local user account so I don't have to sign in. I'm the only user. No password is set. I do have a PIN number but it isn't required to start up. My Windows 10 Pro install was a free upgrade from W7 Pro and is activated with a digital license. In my research on the CPU upgrade process I see I may have to reactivate Windows. It's recommended that I link my PC OS to my MS account which would require me to sign in when I use the rig. And as you have gathered I'd prefer not to do. So this seemed to be a good place to ask some experienced users. My questions are, since I'm not changing the MB would I have to reactivate? Should I go ahead and link my digital license to my MS account and sign in when I use my system pre CPU swap? If I do link to my MS account I suppose I can change it back to a local account after the CPU swap? I realize the CPU "upgrade" isn't a very big one and may not be worth the hassle but I do have the i7. Thanks in advance all!
