    nVidia Settings To Reduce Shimmering

I've found some very old posts with suggested nVidia Control Panel settings, but nothing recent.

I've got an nVidia 2070 Super. No jaggies, but significant shimmering. What is the best information on nVidia Control Panel settings to get rid of shimmering of buildings in the distance? Or thoughts on how to go after shimmering in the Control Panel in general?

    Thanks!

Re: nVidia Settings To Reduce Shimmering

Nvidia added a new function with the latest driver 511.23: DLDSR (RTX-GPU needed).

It brings Downsampling with using AI-Tensorscores (briefliy said). Here more: https://newsy-today.com/nvidia-dldsr...o-activate-it/

In FullHD you should get almost UHD-quality with lower selected downsampling resolution. The fps-impact is not as harsh as using Downsampling with DSR. I'd suggest the 2,25x-factor what brings the quality of 4xDSR with lower fps-impact. Some people report a black screen when using the 1,78x-factor (only reset switch helped), so take care. I tried it with no issues.

In UHD it reduces landscape shimmering to almost none. If someone is interested in my settings (specs below, expect quite an fps-impact... ):

    EDIT: Varied Nvidia settings...

EDIT2: The 1,78x-factor works too, more shimmering, but better results as native UHD.

Bizarrely enough turning off Anisotropic Filtering in the NVCP on my old system cleaned up a lot of the shimmering for me. YMMV.

    S!

Even I am an AMD user I keep my settings so that the application will determine how it is done. Most of the time if you force something it just makes things worse, like less FPS or other anomalies. And at least on AMD Radeon Software it says most forced settings apply only to DirectX 9.0 applications.

Re: nVidia Settings To Reduce Shimmering

After quitted messing with DLDSR, I experimented a bit and found 5120x2880 with the depricated (old) DSR-settings a god alternative with very clean visuals. Contact spotting is o.k., too.

DLDSR gave me strange endless bars in the landscape (tested over London and also sometimes over the sea), what doesn't happen with the conservative DSR-settings on my system.

I changed my ingame settings like this:
